Can anyone please tell me if you can use other software than from Husqvarne Viking to load designs on the reader-writer card for the Rose machine. Thanks Edith

I have the Rose, but I use the Vikant Ultimate box and software. It is certainly a lot less expensive than the Viking software and box. However, if you already have other software and box, can't offer much help, just my sympathy. :-) Hugs, Lois

Catalog Express at Ann The Gran can save designs in the HUS, VIP, VP3 and SHV file types. It can also format the disk for the SHV format so my Designer 1 (Viking) can read it. Although it isn't a free program, it's worth every penny. Catalog Express also has the ability to save in most other formats, change colors, do some resizing, print a design & color char (with center registration and it is a wonderful cataloging program (with previews) for you designs. You can even add or re-name catagories in this section of the program. There is a 30 day free trial so you can see if it's what you need. Good luck!

thanks for your answer. I have catalogue express on both computers. used it for years lol.Expect you have a D1 that takes designs straight from the computer. I have to use a floppy disc for mine. works fine and did not want to spend out to have the machine changed. but for the future good to know. thanks

If it exists I haven't found it - and I have a Rose too. More's the pity since my 3D software suddenly no longer recognises the card or the reader/writer. So I'm very curious if there is a way.

if you changed computers that use vista it does not compute 3 D that is why they make 4D so they can get more money out of us

I have installed 3D on Vista, that is no problem. You have to download a program for the dongle as well, don't remember exactly what I did, but it works fine and I use it regularly. Only thing is it no longer recognizes my USB reader/writer.
I also have a Designer1 and making floppies is no problem - can do that in Embird as well.
