This is especially so because I am doing the conveyancing myself and it is quite time consuming, to say the least.

And of course I will now have to start packing up to be ready to move.

We also have just seven weeks to clean out 91 y.o. MIL's house, replace her dilapidated 40 y.o. kitchen, clean everything, fix all the broken windows, paint it inside and out, have it pest treated, do all the necessary searches and put it on the market. She has lived with us for 4 1/2 years so it has sat empty, except for roaches & mice, before that she was not a very particular housewife, so you can imagine the cleanup required.

Of course there isn't enough money to pay to have all this done so we will have to do it all ourselves. Sheesh, I am tired just thinking about it.

We bought a new (second hand) kitchen on Ebay and spent all day Sunday dismantling it and moving it to Mum's place.

If I get time I'll share before and after photo's in a separate post.

My biggest disappointment??? That this wasn't done for Mum while she was still able to enjoy the pleasure of having such a beautiful kitchen to work in. OH Well, she'll benefit from the higher sale price this renovation will bring.

I'll post a picture of the kitchen we bought (her money) for her.
Hugs n love to all,
Meganne

Wow, it made me tired just reading all you have to do. Don't worry about the emails, when you get settled and rested you'll join us again. Posts here are great. Don't over due, and best wishes.

Hi Meg,

Just saw your post - and it's 12.13am Thursday morning!!! I've been up finishing off the fancy dress top for Jason's 40th birthday this weekend!

Dana and Jason are wearing matching sequinned outfits in brilliant blue and silver!

I just wanted to let the other Cuties know that I sold our kitchen on EBAY too. We had ours professionally dismantled and we wrote on all the pieces so that the person who bought it had no trouble when putting it back. It was in excellent condition but not as grand as the one you've got.

When you think about it - all kitchens are lots of pieces of wood put together and what a price we have to pay for new ones!

Ours is nearly finished we are just waiting on the plumber to put in the fridge and dishwasher. I hope we will all be set up by next week. So much for them saying it would only take a couple of weeks!

Love and blessings to you. Try and get a bit of rest too - I'll be thinking of you and all you have to do in the next few weeks.

Chris

I did not know you could buy something like that on E-bay. Was it stolen??

Well I felt like it was a steal! LOL!!
But no, we had to dismantle and remove it from the sellers' house. They were lovely people and their home was truly 'to die for'
Three stories, with lots of glass windows and skylights, veranda on two sides and two levels, tremendous high raked ceilings and it overlooked a natural bushland gully.
They have only owned it 1 year and were renovating and updating it with all contemporary design kitchen, bathrooms, etc.
It was probably worth over a million $.
but I think I like our new home more as their access and driveway was very steep and each time I had to walk down it I was terrified of slipping and falling all the way to the bottom. It took three attempts to get the truck back up to the roadway.

No, I think my knees prefer level blocks or with a gentle slope, too old for mountain climbing. LOL!!!

There are lots of kitchens on eBay and some of them are truly gorgeous! You should browse the ebay.com.au website, search for kitchen and all the other suggested searches come up. It's fun to look.

Hugs n roses, Meganne

Wow, in my dreams! I never knew you could buy a kitchen on ebay, lol! I don't wonder far from the jewelry and clothing areas! Hang in there, one day you will be able to relax.

Sounds like you are going to be very busy. Have fun. I am currently sorting out through a build up of life of almost 30 years. We have lots of storage space - which is now looking a lot clearer. I have not had a deadline to stick to as you do. Will keep thinking about you.

PS like the kitchen you got from ebay. The most expensive purchase I have had from ebay was a track bike for our younger daughter

Meg, I am sure that anyone that you owe an email to - can certainly understand what you are up against - with time and now with taking care of business. You really do have your hands full - with all that you are doing - with his, hers and hers stuff. You will get through it - more than likely - you will lose 20 pounds or so, too. I know - I did - when we moved from North Carolina to Utah - almost 3 years ago. Sorry to say, I put it back on. I think you have so much to look forward to. I am wishing you the very best - you sure deserve it.

This would have been a $30,000 kitchen if we wanted to buy it new, Solid American Oak Timber, Including the Microwave, Wall Oven, Ceram Cooktop, Range-hood, Dishwasher, sink and taps with a detergent dispenser.

We got if for $850.
Now Ray has to install it to fit in Mum's place.

I was green with envy over the size of it and yes it will fit in Mum's kitchen, which is also large.
HNR, Meganne
