Will be doing this project for a blind friend and have never done candlewicking. Thank you for any information you can share.

If it's embroidery: just use your embroidery foot.

The candlewicking foot is used only when your are sewing the fancy stitches on your machine. The regular sewing foot would not allow the material to be transported properly because of the 'bumps'.

If it is an embroidery design with candlewicking you should not need anything but your embroidery foot. But, if you are using the candlewicking option of stitches from your machine, you will need the candlewicking foot to allow the stitches to feed properly. Good luck with this, and look forward to seeing your project.

They say you do need the foot due to the fact there's a "bumP" there. I'd try it first without the special foot, then see if you need one. I don't think you need one for EMBROIDERY but am fairly certain you need one if you are doing the candle wicking in the regular machine mode.

The candlewicking that I have done with my embroidery machine - I just use the embroidery foot. Check with your dealer.
