I have had so much trouble with Yahoo groups so now I am glad to just be with my Cute family. Good for you.
congrats!!! I have thought about doing the same thing. Some of the groups are just mainly ad's I am on digest and they still take time to open just to delete them.
Good for you, some of those groups send out so much junk that you get bogged down.
Now in my opinion I call that Being Smart. Good to have you on board Sewalaskan. *
I need to do the same thing....I have an aol mail account for groups and other stuff and a yahoo account for family and friends....I don't have time to read all the stuff and some groups require you to receive a bunch of ads, I could drop over half the groups and not miss them....I have dial-up and it's so slow (will go back to satellite when the house it paid off in two and a half years)I have to really pick wisely and feel like my time spent here is well worth it.....thanks maybe I will make time and try to do this, this week.
You are rght since I discovered this site I go to my yahoo groups not very often My problem is which one goes and stays!!
Kudo's to you! I did the same thing. I get more from here than anywhere. Cuties is the Yahoo relief group. hehehe
WAY TO GO! There was a time that I had 92 yahoo groups - the digested email got really bad - so I stopped them all but a couple - the ones I have now - I don't get digested, because only the owner sends out specials - so I like that - I can still get updates on them and not feel like I am a slave to my email account - I want to send email out to friends and family - that is why I have an account - I love this group - have for years - it is interesting and you get to know the CUTE members, too.
Did that a while back and felt the choice was well worth getting the same old same old stuff every day.
I came to that same conclusion some time ago, and I'm sure glad I did!
Hi fellow Alaskan--I agree with you about the yahoo groups, I've scaled mine down too. Kenai
