Glad to hear your machine got over its tantrum! My Janome MC11000 did that to me a few weeks ago. I did everything, new needle, new bobbin thread, took the spool of thread off, put it back on again. you name it I did it. Well, I got so upset I just shut the machine down and walked away. The next morning I figured I'd have to sart over, cut the towel in half and use for whatever. Turned the machine on and the screen asked if I wanted to continue with last design, well of course I did, hit the yes and that dang machine took me right where I left off the day before, finished stitching it out with not one thread break.I just love my Janome. UPDATE: I said good night to my machine last night as I went to bed and told the Gremlins inside that they should please leave and go somewhere else. I woke up this morning and checked this posting to see if anymore tips came in while I was sleeping. I read Michele921's tip and thought it was a pretty good idea so I tried that. I just turned on my machine and it now works!!!!!
Not sure if it was Gremlins or Michele's idea of blowing air, but whatever happened, it's running smoothly again! So, thanks everyone for your tips - you helped me get happily stitching again :-)
I think my machine responds to my stress. The more stressed I am the longer it takes me to finish a design. Step back, take a deep breath and think how good it will feel to be done with the project and moving. It might not help the machine to behave, but you might feel better.
I have a Singer Futura ce350. When I have this problem I find if I hold the top thread lightly it seem to work fine. For me it is usually the tention of the top thread. I have also tried a bit of foam over the leaver that the thread first go through and this will help at times. Good luck.
I think everyone has covered all possibilities. I have a Singer XL-5000. I've had thread catch on spools, even cone thread get in a bind. Sometimes I think its just the thread(maybe old). But usually if I rethread my machine, it will work OK. Sometimes I change the needle or slow the speed(especially with metallics). Sometimes the only thing that works is for me to take a break! LOL!
I don't have a singer but this did happen to my D1 and my guy couldn't take it in, so he told me to try blowing air into the upper tension, so my husband set up his hoses and blew we did !!!! rethreaded and it was fixed, has been running smooth since, we made sure we blew across the path of threading as to not have thread blow into machine.
Good luck and so sorry it is giving you a hard time.
I have some compressed air (air in a can), maybe I should give that a try...???
Everyone has mentioned things I would have thought of except one thing, which I kept having this problem but it was the spool of thread, I realized the spool had a niche on it that kept hanging the thread, so I reversed it and it was fine. Now if I use that brand (C&C) I look for the niche. That is the only thing I can think of. I started out with the 200, but didn't like it. Gave it back to the original owner who let me use it on a trial basis. SOOO glad I got the Brother. :)
I'm using cone thread, so don't have the option of turning it a different way...although I'm pretty sure that's not the culprit...but thanks for the advice!
I think it is a Singer problem. I have the ce-250 and it does the same thing. The beeping will drive you crazy. The only thing i can tell you is to rethread the machine. It has to be just so . Mine has'nt done it in some time so hopefully it won't anytime soon. Good luck and let us know what the repairman has to say. My next emb machine won't be a singer.

Did you replace the needle? Maybe a burr is on it. Did you put in a different bobbin? Maybe it is snagging on something. Don't know anything else. Good luck with the machine and with the move!
Yes, I did put in a new needle and since there was only a little bit of thread left, I unwound it and wound up a fresh new bobbin.
Rita, it doesn't sound good - more than likely - he didn't get it all - when he repaired it - but if you tried all those things - I can't think of anything else to tell you - other than to pray about it. You might do a heavy thread through the sensors - like you were threading your machine and see if that pulls anything out. Good luck dear.
I stitched out 6 designs with no problems until this happened. Now all of a sudden it's acting up. I'm hoping it's just some little gremlins that got in there that have to work themselves out over night - LOL!
