Made one with balsa wood (had a piece left over from Boy Scout years)and just used a straight edge ruler and utility knife to score the wood a few times. The cutting went well.
What a neat idea. If you cuties lived close to me I'd nominate hubby to do the cutting, dang, he would even help make them! Carol
Looks neat, but what do u use this ironing board for?

i used on old cutting board and covered it. It works great!
Home depot or lowes sells what they call handy panels. They are sheets of plywood cut up into smaller pieces. You can get them to cut it the sizes you need. You get 2 cuts free and then have to pay a small amount for additional cuts. I just have my hubby cut them for me as he is a wood worker also. Just thought someone could use this info if they don't have someone to cut the wood for them. Suzanne
I have boards for my hoops that I use when I have to cut back fabric on the wrong site for in-the-hoop projects. Bare MDF. Never thought of using them this way. But I could easily make seperate padding so I could use it the way I do now and with the padding as an ironing board.
Don't know if this would affect it or not but remember MDF swells when it gets wet so if the steam from the iron is too much it may ruin the board. Maybe seal it first.
I looked at that & thought "how neat" but you need someone to cut the wood for you, *
Thanks...this is a cleaver idea. My husband has woodworking equipment...looks like another hunny-do project could be heading his way!!!
In our house it is MY woodworking equipment! My father bought me a scroll saw one year and a grinder belt sander the next. I have all my own tools and dh has to ask to borrow them and then hand them back to me. He has never used my saw or sander. The only thing that I am scared of is the circular saw. I had to buy myself a jigsaw to avoid using the circular one.
