P.S. see my crochet jacket that I made for someone.
My son's fiance' is the model.
I would love to try machine smocking....finding time to learn is the problem.
I just want to become confident and proficient at what I am doing now. I have thought about taking up jewelry, tatting and rehopolstery, but no longer want to do any of tehm.
I hate to say this but I'm a Jill of all trades and master of none. hehehe... There isn't much I've not tried from Porcelain dolls to stain glass, crochet, knit, crewel, painting and of course anything to do with fabric. I've jewelry made, smocking, stamping and scrapbooking. You name it I've at least tried it once. I truly love working with fabric, so that is what I stick to... I think it is the ADHD I've never been diagnosed with. hehehe... Great question Bev. Thanks.Terre
Gosh girl you have some doh-ray-me!!! I could never afford to test even half of these!!! Good for you and give thanks to God for your good fortune!
i have tried almost everything also. I can crochet but not knit. I like to go to craft shows and when I see something I like but is overpriced I think to myself I can make that. And usually do!I have even taken things apart to see how they were made.
I already know how to knit and crochet and quilt. Right now I'm just trying to master the art of machine embroidery! LOL
I would love to learn to tat. I do almost all other hand crafts like knit, crochet, hand embroidery, etc. but tatting has never been one that I've been able to conquer. Also envy all who can pick up a paint brush and just create a beautiful picture or design!!!
Try needle tatting. I bought a kit from michaels , 3 needles and an instruction book. So much easier than a shuttle. Also I've recently learned how to cro-tat.
When I was at college one of our group always had some tatting on the go. She would tat between lectures, coffee breaks going up and down in the lift... At the end of 3 years she had produced enough lace to go round her wedding dress and the three bridesmaids dresses. It is not difficult to do
I want to learn how to make glass beads. That is something I admire everytime I see a person on a market working with fire and glass nad then there are so wonderful little creatures like frogs and ladybugs and many more. Or colorful beads... Someday ;o)
There isn't too much I haven't tried, but that is one of them. Not sure I would have the diaphragm
Found a screen printer machine (the ones with light bulbs)at a yard sale and haven't used it yet. It says it can make prints even on paper napkins. Just waiting for a chance to try it out but I don't want to waste the supplies until I can print in mass quantities.
I like all art forms, I would like to learn how to paint like a pro., I like stained glass too, never try it but I have seen craft shows about it.
I have always loved stained glass, but I can not afford to buy all of the materials needed for this hobby.
I would like to learn to smock, I think it is getting to be a lost art. Not to many people I know can do it,
I would love to try this. ( smock)
I have some free designs to try..
on my to do list lol
Big hugs from london
Mooie xx
go to Martha Pullum's website and I think there are video's that you can learn, if not go to You Tube, I'm sure it's on there. :)LOL Now that there is machine embroidery you can smock a lot quicker. hehehe
Smocking is fun and I remember making dresses for my older daughter that were smocked
I would like to learn one stroke painting.....I have the videos and brushes, now I need to find the time to practice.....I think painting designs on wood and denim would be alot of fun.....looking forward to seeing what others want to lean....Janet
