there are times when creating a bag / tote / purse that it requires a handle to just finish it off, but what to use,
heres a few ideas for you.
Make a tube in matching or contrasting fabric and insert some rope, leave the bottom two inches of the tube at both ends clear of the rope to allow you to sew the rope onto the bag onto the bag. try some clear tubeing purchased from a pet shop for fish ponds insert some beads on a string or thick
thread and fasten to the inside of the tube with hot glue at each end. leave the bottom three inches clear use a hot skewer to burn a hole through the tube one inch from the bottom on both sides the will allow you to sew the tube to the bag. The tube comes in different sizes, the large tube is
ideal to add onto a handle just as a hand grip to keep that section of the fabric clean. simply take a section of tube about 6 ich long and thead a fabric handle through it.
take a look in the thrift shops as they have lots of belts that can be used for straps, use them as is if they look good or cover with the fabric as with the rope, and again fasten onto the bag.
if the belt is plain why not add some flowers onto the ends of it. use hot glue guns for this or if you want, why not use some nice cord or braid and just zig zag down the belt to fasten the cords in place add a few hanging beads for that bit of bling.
i wonder if some of you can add your own ideas
