I buy color books for myself, because I love to color. Guess some of us never grow-up in many ways. H&*

I wish I could digitize because I have seen so many pretty pictures.

I know what you mean. I'll just stick with what I have been doing.

I see you already got you answer but i can tell you that I save some of them that I print out for the great grands to color when they come to visit. I do not digitize. There are alot of sites that have pages for free for the kids to color but I usually check out the clip art just in case. I have 3 different Xyron machines and I have one great grand that likes stickers on everything. If I find a design I think Raeleigh would like I run it through the Xyron with the repositional backing on it and she has her stickers. She has just started to school and is a real girly girl so I have to choose carefully for her. Her two cousins, boys, 2 and 4 like stickers also but the 4 yr. old just might be artist one day. He can color and stay in the lines and pick the right colors very well. I keep him in pictures from everywhere to color. He has a heart problem and the down time for him is essential. We never have to make him slow down when there are crayons and pictures. He will sit for hours and color. Of course he is just as crazy about a good ball game of any kind also. The 2 yr old is a thinker. He plays hard and he is now into power naps. Gone are the real naps. He nods off and in 10 minutes he is up and going again. You can watch him and it is amazing. he will get still for a few minutes and you can almost see the cogs turning. He stops and thinks about he wants to get into next and off he he goes. He is the happiest child I have been around since mine was growing up. He got sleepy in church Sunday and he fought it to the end of the service. As soon as he got strapped into the baby seat, he was a goner. My son only lives a couple of miles from the church so by the time we got there and started to unload everything, he was up and going again. Brayden is the most pleasant child I have been around in yrs. He has learned to defend himself from the older brother but as soon as his wants are aired, it is over and they are playing again. Big brother(4) tends to have some tantrums at times but they have improved alot since the baby came along. He looks after his little brother. My clip art is usually saved for the GGrads.

Ah yes, having little ones around, don't know if it keeps you young or wears you out, lol. I keep a coloring book and crayons around and we don't have any young ones come around at all. I have been known to sit and color a pic now and again, lol.

Linda and Debra... Forget the GK's I will color before they do. hehehe. of course when they see me coloring they want to color too. I get those that are really big print and use them as patterns for applique with a little variation.:)

Clip art are pictures in a digitizing format or to use for decoration on your web site, you could print them out and use them for scraftbooking. THey come in different formats, you DL the most convinient for your embroidery software, could it be jpg, gif, etc is not the machine embroidery format. I am not very good explaining all these computer stuff.

Thanks, I have no use for it then. Think I may have DL one so I'll just get rid of it.

mary51 by mary51 14 Aug 2010

Don't do it as you can see there are a lot of uses for them beside embroidery

"Clip art" is basically a picture that can be digitized. Generally it presented as a line drawing as opposed to a photo. Sites like Clipartoon give away free clip art that can be digitized if you have digitizing software such as Embird. They also sell clip art to folks that digitize so that thye can create designs for use to buy.
