dismantled too much. No needle anywhere. I found it in my project when I ran my finger across the fabric. Now I'll be able to sleep tonight , better in my finger than in my foot. Has this ever happened to you? Did you find it?

Bev, I think we have all broken and needle and couldn't find the one end at one time or the other - but I might be mistaken. It will usually turn up - as yours did and I am thrilled it was in your project and not on the floor, for your foot, too.

I have broken needles & had them fly here & there! But usually the point is in the project as the thread is in that. I would be careful about running a magnet anything around the inside of the machine as they are all so "computer driven" now. Glad you found it...and NOT in your foot! I DO run a magnet over the floor looking for pins, etc.

Under the needle plate there aren't any electronics on my machine.

I use a magnetic screw driver and slide it along the inside of the machine IF I do not find it in my project first.

I'v gone after the needle with tweezers before. Like the idea of a piece of fabric. Thank you for the tip.

After I heard someone else dropped a needle down through and then in putting in a new dropped it too I started laying a piece of fabric over on the machine before I changed the needle.

Good idea. We should all get into that habit!

Yes that was me. I could have saved myself the $45.00 they charged to get those 2 needles out, because they would have found them during the next cleaning. Learned a lot from that.
