yes looking at them you can see that the stabilizer pulled away during stitching. get the fibourus (not spelled right LOL) make sure you hoop it tight, by tight I mean so there is no slipping during the stitching and they should come out fine.
I had the same thing happen to me but I was using the right stabilizer. Mine happened because I didn't have it tight so it loosened and my stitches ended up outside pattern.
Let us know how you do on your next try. You will enjoy making them though, I just love FSL, I am already doing my ornemants for xmas this yr too.
I will let everyone know, I go into Paducah tomorrow and going to look for other stabslizer
ok, I finally got them on here. This will show you where the mistakes are.
You probably did not any mistake. Do you have AC on? the humidity is awful for these materials, If you live in a humid place I never had that problem until I move to DR, I did some FSL and I had to keep adding layers of stabilizer The project almost fall apart. Next time before I do Fsl I will check humidity for that day
From what everyone has said here,(so much good information) I think I am using the wrong stabalizer.
thanks for posting as we all learn from others and reading this has taught me too.
Allstitch sells both the Badgemaster film type of water soluble and also the Fibrouse Type by the name Vilene.
You can buy different sized rolls in both of these.
Here is the link to the backings page, look under the Water Solubles.

I just stitched out a set of the initial jewelry that is free from a cutie, I used 2 layers of the thicker WSS and other than an error in the design it came out nice, the background color didn't sew well on the left side of the pendant part. I did the R with white background and purple letter for my Mom, her birthday is Monday so I have to finish it up.
For FSL I use a size 75/11 or a size 80/12 embroidery needle when using 40 weight embroidery thread for embroidering FSLace.
You do not want to use a larger needle size than the 2 sizes above as the stitches in FSL are very small and using too large of needle can distort the design or cause problems with it punching out as the needle make too big a hole and there is not enough stabilizer inbetween stitches for the stitches to hold on to.
If a design is over 12000 stitches I use 2 layers of the Fibrous water soluble stabilizer.
If design is 12000 stitches or less use 1 layer of the Fibrous type of water soluble stabilizer.

It sounds like you used the film type of water soluble stabilizer that looks like plastic.
That is why it punched out and also why your design didn't connect in places.
There are 2 kinds of water soluble stabilizer that is suitable for doing FSLace on.
There is a heavy weight film type called Badgemaster and one called Ultra Solvy.
Badgemaster is the best of these two.
Then there is a fibrous water soluble that looks like a very light weight tear away or cut away.
Vilene water soluble, Wash Away fibrous, Aqua Magic, H2O Gone are some of the brands or names of the Fibrous water soluble.
The Fibrous water soluble does not punch out while you stitch the design.
It is not affected with high humidity or dry air.
It does not have to be kept in an air tight container.
the Film type can be affected by high humidity as it can stretch in the hoop while you sstitch and also stick to the machine sewing bed in high humdity. It can also dry out and become brittle so it has to be kept in an air tight container when not used.
Your best choice would be the Fibrous type of water soluble stabilizer for FSLace.
Depending on the stitch count and the number of layers in a FSL design you can use one or 2 layers of the fibrous type.
here is a video that you can view on the Designs by Sick website on the Backings page.
Click on the link and scroll down to the Wash Away Fibrous Stabilizer near the bottom of the page to view the Video.

There are several vendors that sell the Fibrous Water Soluble stabilizer on line.

I like to use organza for a backing sometimes. Organza comes in white but I have also found gold and other colors.
Here is a tutorial that I found and posted in freebies over the weekend. It has free designs too. Reva
I recently did 3 of the heart monograms (the ones that are free here on Cute) I used them on a bow for a bridal shower gift. I used 2 layers of the woven type WSS and did all 2 in the same hooping. I didn't have any trouble. If they were not connected in places, maybe they aren't fsl designs? Just asking. Can't help with the picture uploading. I've never tried that.
You need the wss that looks like it's woven, or a thich (80 micron) 'plastic' type (often called Badgemaster), otherwise it will be punched out of the wss.
Looking for tips on this cause I am doing one in a week or so. Did you use the thin, kinda see through WSS? I would be using the kind that is thicker and white.
The thiner kind because that is all I have right now. Where do you buy the thicker and white type.
I got mine at JoAnn's but you can get it at a lot of online places. Others would know better than me.
did you have the stabilzer real tight in your hoop, I have noticed if it is not real tight as it stitches the stabilizer will loosen. then the stitches are not were they are suppose to be by the end.
I thought it was tight, maybe it wasnt but as it stitched the outside it cut the stabalizer away also.
I have had good results in keeping thin wash a way stabilizer from moving in the hoop by using several pieces of scotch tape placed around all sides of the hoop, attaching it to the stabizizer and then the hoop. No slippage at all!!
