I had some Iridescent Cellophane Tissue made by American Greetings in with my gift wrapping stuff so I tried it on a few designs and it did great. I even hand washed one of the designs and put it in the dryer it looked just like it did before washing. I love those Mylar Designs!!

Oh, I am afraid to try washing the mylar - and I just went out and bought some. I am glad that you showed this to us. I may take it back. LOL

I'm so sorry to see this, but glad you were brave enough to show us. Try using a permanent marker and see what it will do. Color your mylar and then put it in the dryer to heat set the color, then see if it will come off with water.

I am surprised as your results. All the sites that are promoting Mylar do say it is washable. I wonder if Mylar is a trademark. I must admit some packages say Mylar and some say metalized tissue and one says iridescent tissue. I wonder if I have purchased some Mylar wantabes. Kay

so sorry for you. I've read the opal mylar is the only one that can be washed, even ironed on the back. so perhaps another try with the opal kind. But it's a pitty for this one *4u

What colour was the Mylar? I have read that coloured Mylar is not a good one to wash, but the opal one is OK, that is the one I have used a few times, and washes with no problems..
