Turned out perfect. In the future if you want to play around before the design starts to stitch the outline and the swirls change the thread color (also in the bobbin) light tone on dark tone would be very pretty even contrasting colors. Let your imagination run free, do not fear experimenting.
it looks greaat!!! what a difference using the right stabilizer, when you wash out the stabilizer try leaving some in / not rinsing fully, this will help keep it stiffer for you. You can also make a mixture with the leftover stabilizer add a little alcohol to the mixture to keep it from molding is what I have read. You can put it in a spray bottle and sprizt the FSL when needed.
I have also read to clean up any little threads that might be sticking out to use a wood burning tool. I have not used one myself because my husband used my tool and now I can't find it LOL
Sometimes I will do a 2nd stitch of the base stitching to make it thicker. I did the Santa faces last xmas for evr1 in my family so I wanted a heavier base on them so I did the 2nd stitch.
Now you will be hooked on FSL :) LOL
Your ornament turned out really great.
I am so glad you tried the fibrous type of water soluble stabilizer.
EastWitch2
Here is the ornament.
These also look beautiful if you put mylar on it just lay it over the solvy stabalizer and stitch over it the rest will peel away and gives an awsome affect
if you can stitcth this lovely ornament you can use mylar dont be afraid to try just lay it on top of your stabalizer and stitch out the design as normal never had anything so easy ive been doing it to fsl angels they look awsome the surplus around the design just peels away rinse as normal the light just makes your work shimmer
It looks lovely - you could use a small amount of a product form DecoArt called Craft Twinkles - it i brush-on glitter pain - I use the Crystal - it give it a very nice touch on the tree with lights glowing.
