These are great. When you say grains inside do you mean rice and is there stuffing too.
No rice; wheat + rye + spelt (every sort has some good features so I mix them). You cannot really wash them with much water but if they are really dirty you can open the seam at the bottom and empty them for washing. The grape-pips are better in that way because they are not so "hygroscopic" (like cherry-stones).
My kids have their knuddies now for more than a year and they are well and fresh (and Felix is 3 with lot of kakao-bottles in the last year and he has a bright fabric for his one).
This is an excellent work! Congratulations Bettina!
Flowers to all the friends.
It looks so much nicer than the square heat pads I've seen so far! Great fun.
ok-cute,but what the heck is a Knuddie??
.oops-didn't read the heading-a heat pad? really? you mean for like a hot water bottle?
No, inside is grain so you can put them in the micro or the ofen to heat it (put it on the stomache, aching-muscles or when you feel cold; we put them on the radiator in the wintertime so they are warm enough for children-hands coming home from a sowball fight). You can also put them in a plasticbag and lay it in the fridge/freezer; its wonderful for sunburn or headache :o)
For babies I take grape-pips for the inside; lighter and finer.
Greetings, Bettina
OH! I never knew what they were called-great idea! A friend of mine has a couple that she got at a country craft shop-I think hers has popcorn kernels in it-she uses them alot.Thank you for the info Bettina- I'd give you more flowers if I could but I did that earlier lol**linda**
The word Knuddie is just for this design :o)
They have really popcorn in it? Don't they fear that it will "plop" when you put it in the ofen/micro? Most people take cherry-pips (becuase you can wash them) but for the knudie they are too big and it feels uncomfortable. I just use them for the bigger heath-pads. The newest I found are pips from currant; they are so tiny and smell wonderful when you make them hot ;o)
