in Addition:
To download it self you need:
for zipped files a freeware like win.rare to unzipp the files after download, or like the files here at cuties, they are unzipped, only press download, then save as when the windows opens - choose a file on your pc - that's it
Hi
I use also the MC 11000 and the MC9700 which is simular since years.
I download the designs as before with any other machine, all formats and save them in a folder on my notebook under vista.
Then I open the files with embird and save as .jef file, then "save under" on a USB stick to transport to the machine.
If you don't use any programme like Digitizer pro, Customizer 11000, or any other converting programme it's difficult, but you can find converters for free only to convert the different files to .jef files. Many websites offer it.
For me - I have so many designs - it's more easy to save them before on my computer in the organiozed files and folders and then only put them on the stick if I want to use. As more files you have on the stick as more time it takes to load.
May be Janome means the update of the machine itself - this you should let make the dealer .
There is no way to download directly designs to your machine from the internet. You need a medium like stick, card or PC-file.
Hope this helps

I have Janome 11000SE and also a laptop with Vista. I have not tried the direct line into the machine from the computer as I use the USB drive. I dl jef files to my laptop desktop and then I place them into categories in my USB drive. I do know that you have to have your jef files in folders in order for the machine to be able to read them. My shop owner said this was the simpliest way to download and get them in the files that they needed to be in and in the category needed. Have you asked your dealer what you need to do? I know mine is a great source of information.
