OK found out the problem....probably OLD thread as you said, BUT today with the morning sun on the machine I wanted to see what I might see, was happening....well...when I use the automatic needle threader, it is splitting the Floriani thread ever so slightly.....BUT enough that when it sews faster is just separates, splits and causes a mess.....so I just hand threaded the needle and got alot done today...Thanks to you all and I will try to post a picture when it is finished so you guys can see what you saved :-)....Thank you again

Even more of you taking the time for me, Ty ALL...I do have the option of putting it upright, I have one of those stands for the metalic thread, soooo first I take it back, if that does not work, the freezer and the upright....at least there are alot of solutions except "ME" being dumb lol..Thanks so much again, I have been stitching out designs all day for yet another project, a wedding throw for my God daughter, in October, I put designs together and they did stitch out perfectly so tomorrow, the real thing.....what do ya wanna bet...there will be problems of some kind....lol...thanks again for all your time

Thread troubles can be quite frustrating. If you have the option of putting the thread upright you might try it. I agree about taking the thread back where you bought it& asking for a refund. Also,it's good to let the store know if there's a problem with the product you bought.

WOW, TY ALL for taking the time with such good advice and it sounds like it is one of two things, OLD, or my machine is being tempermental :-) Thank you all again, I LOVE THIS SITE :-) and flowers to you all :-) Hugs, Barbara

Sorry you had trouble. In the future don't buy a lot of new brand of thread at a time. Buy a cone or two to test your machine. also use a sharp 70 0r 80 size for towels and your ball point on knit or fabric that the needle hole would cause a run. It might be interesting to e-mail Floirani and give all the codes on the cones. Some may be dates. if your dealer sold you 10 yr old thread, shame on them. Kay

Sometimes thread dries out...put it in your freezer for 2 or 3 days and see if it shreds less. ARC thread is pretty tough, my machine preferes Robison Anton and hates Sulky.

Just wondered if you'd put that in a zip bag then freeze it.

I just set mine in a plastic container directly in the freezer. The idea is to get the thread to absorb some of the moisture and if it were in a zip lock that couldn't happen. It did help once when I was using some thread that I knew was old.

I use rayon with my machine (when it is working!) without a problem but some machines just don't like some brands of thread. If ARC works best for you then I would say to stick with it. Good luck and happy embroidering! Hope your friends love their gift!

I'll 3rd the "OLD" thread theory...I'm willing to bet that's the problem. I'd take it back to the store for a refund...the least they can do is refuse! ~Rita

It could be the thread is old or yur machine does not like that thread.

May just be your machine does not like that brand of thread. Or maybe the thread was old. Was it polyester or rayon? I bought some maderia Rayon on line and it will not work in my machine. Wasted $100. Maybe you can use for something!!!
