Glad your up and running again. I kinda figured it was a tension problem. Glad you can now enjoy your machine. Have fun!!
I'm glad that was all it was! I have been working on a couple of things today but I can't seem to stay off the computer, lol!
I made hankies for all the attendents, moms, & grandmas for our son's wedding. Did them in a PALE blue letters, except mine. Which I did in an ecru as I was wearing a beige dress. They were lovely and loved. Glad you're up and sewing again!!
Thanks! I actually bought on ebay a vintage one with just a touch of cut work on the corner. I chose the design because they love Japan, met in Japanese language class in his second year of college, her first year. They went to Tokyo for 2 weeks 2 years ago and plan on a 3 week honeymoon in a different part of Japan. There might be one bridesmaid but I don't know who and I think my older son will be best man but there will only be about 20 of us there. A gazebo on a Sunday morning in the middle of town walking distance to the hall for a brunch reception.
So happy you got it fixed and up and running.

WOW!! That's great to have a repairman come to your home like that. Is he from the machine company?*4U
No, I called one place in the phone book that mentioned machine repair but when I called I found out it is basically an alterations place but she gave me the name of the guy who works on her machines and he said he'd be out in the morning!
So happy you are back in the sewing game and the joy of getting a repair man who knows what he is doing. I ran across my computer tech in much the same way--he charges $25 hour.
I feel very lucky to have found him and I put his number in the phone book!
Nice they make house calls! I have to pack mine up and drive an hour.
Yeah, I got super lucky on the house call, saves me time and gas and I don't have to worry about how long before I can go pick it back up! I live in a semi large city, Canton Ohio, home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, we are South of Cleveland.
Hooray for you..Glad its up and going ..I know when mine went down it drove me crazy and the addiction pains took over..
:)
Thanks, my only worry was I have so many towels I want to get done by Christmas. I am more addicted to this web site than I am to my embroidery machine!
Oh me too!! I am always *trolling* Such great designs here and the friendship and designs from others ..well its amazing!!
Yay for you :) Now if you want to stop that little screw that he adjusted from wobbling loose, put a little dab of clear nail polish on it. In time its gonna wobble loose anyway - the bobbin is in constant motion while using your machine - so I check mine every now & again, but the nail polish trick I think was also suggested on the ULT site I linked you to.
Perhaps you should write to Brother again and recommend your repair man to them in case anyone else in your area needs him. Kinda passing it forward too, yanno? :)
Good to see you're up & running now, lets hope you fall in love with this machine now - I love my Brother. xXx
Good idea, think I'll see where the nail polish is, I so rarely wear it unless it is my fav red or pink.
So glad you are up and running. Doesn't it feel like your so lost without a machine. I hope you watched The repair guy carefully so that if it happens again you can fix it yourself and save some money. You should find out from the company if they have a metal bobbin case you can substitute in there so you won't have the problem again ! Glad you back and running fine. Suzanne
I kinda thought it was something like that....great price on the repair! I paid much more to have mine fixed.
Yes, I got lucky, I had to help him with little things like taking the plastic bobbin cover off and stuff like that cause he wasn't use to this kind of machine but he got it done and I am happy! I got those important projects done, well, I still have to put that design I put in projects onto the actual hankie for the DIL to be but that will be done today.
YA RAH! I am so happy to hear that you got the machine repaired. I figured it was probably something simple, but was afraid the $ was not going to be simple, but it was. I am so glad you hung in there with it. Was the repairman a local person? You were very lucky with the price. Now go to town on that machine and enjoy yourself.....
I called an alterations place and she recommended him, he just lives across town and came to my house!
Good for you. You are making up for lost time.
I figured I better get the important things out of the way, my son's wedding is an unexpected pleasure! 10 years they have been together, living together 3 1/2, bought a house a year and a half ago, she didn't want to do the legal thing but changed her mind! There will not be grandchildren though :(
great the machine is working properly again!! happy embroidering for you now!
Yes, a happy ending! It's gonna be 92 here for the next few days so I am going to be in the air conditioned house with a fan blowing my way and get my butt OFF the computer and on the machine!!
Am very Happy for you, now GET Sewing!!! Hahaha! Hugs, Judy
Debra, I am so thrilled for you - I was worried that your machine was going to cost you an arm and a leg to get repaired. That is great - now to see what you have created for us to view. Keep on stitching!
I am happy that your machine is working again. Did you ask the repair man if there is a metal bobbin for you machine?
One more tip for the hankie. I found some thread with a higher # at my dealer when I did a bridal hankie for a friend 's daughter. I no longer have the spool as I gave it back to her to keep if she wanted to do the sane hankie for younger daughter. The fabric was quite thin and I didn't want the monogram to be to heavy. She wad received the hankie as a reward as a child and thought it would be a nice item to pass down.
The hankie I have is very thin also, to make it I am going to use 2 med weight wss on the bottom and the plastic kind on top just to be safe but it still will be a bit heavy. I figure, they are getting married in a gazebo in the middle of town with only about 20 guests and then walking to the reception hall just up the street so I am not going to worry about it being perfect. She may frame it after that and there will be no children so she won't be passing it down.
Yea for you, I have been following your frustration since yesterday but had no input, just I would have thrown it out the window LONG before you threatened to lol....Happy sewing...until next time for any of us..Hugs and Flowers
Oh thank you, I was walking around the house with both hands grabbing my hair and it is very short so that wasn't easy (my new growth after chemo) but my DH thought I was losing my mind, lol!
I'm sorry you had to spend the money, but happy for you that it is fixed. Happy sewing. Arlene
$25 was much better than returning this machine, the price of it has even gone up at Walmart and if I returned it I was going to shop elsewhere and probable spend a good bit more, I almost wish he hadn't been able to fix it, giggle!
I'm glad to hear that the problem could be fixed easily. Now you can enjoy working with your baby again. I'm going over to see those projects.
Glad to hear you're up and running again, it's so frustrating do want to do our embroidery work and can't.
I am so happy for you. You really had a lot of frustrations with this machine. I am glad it is fixed. Happy stitching.
Yippee!! You're up and running! All that you went through with that machine. I admire your patience as if that had been mine it would have been long gone! Carol
I'm so glad you have a satisfactory end to your machine problem.
Do the hankie colours match what the bride will be wearing? The ideas of the hankie and the framed embroidery are lovely and I'm sure the young people will treasure your gifts.
All the best for very successful stitching... for these projects and for future projects.
AlmaG.
Her gown is a simple white strapless at last check, lol. There will be maybe 20 people there and they are using the gazebo in the center of town, nothing religious and she isn't even taking his last name. I was surprised she was even going to wear a gown!
YEAH!!!!! I'm so glad you got it fixed. I was sorta worried... You should be getting the thread tomorrow, I hope. ;)
left you a PM on a response, it came today! Thank you so much, I will be filling a bobbin with that thread before I do the hankie!
