Thank you all for the great ideas and help. Baby wipes and titanium needles are on my shopping list!
I think I'll try that "keep it cold/freezer" thing too. Allstitch won't pay shipping to send it back and I can only imagine how much that will cost! You all had good ideas and hopefully I'll get thru it!

I have the same problem when it is very humid. Keep it cool. The silicone spray works well and also sewer's aid in the little bottle. Just a drop on the needle helps for quite awhile. I don't have the problem in the winter.

I use "Easy Stick" from Terradon Embroidery. It does not gum up the needle. Ask them to send you samples of all their stabilizers. Very nice people to deal with. They carry the best stabilizers at a very reasonable price. Sukiray

Oh - this is frustrating!
With one kind of stabilizer I have the same problem. I clean my needles often, but it costs so much time!
I slow down the machine to 400 stitches only, use titanium needles all the time(the best I think).
It sound, as if it's depending on the particular roll. I have three kinds and the problem is only with one of them.
I figured out it is only the haevy backing with glue not the lighter like medium or light weight.
Also I do not use it with Rayon or Silk, only for polyesterthread.
I would send back and order another one. Otherwise you will waste a lot of time and thread.

Hope you find the best solution after all of our advices, happy stitching anyway

Hi,

When I went to the John Deer convention last month he said to keep a packet of "BABY WIPES" next to your machine and wipe the needle down with that!

You could try using Titanium coated needles and also put silicone spray on the needle.
You may have to apply the silicone to the needle more than once while stitching.

Also slow your machinbe down as this will help with the needle not getting too hot while stitching.

I think that the heat from the needle and machine is what causes the problem.

It seems to be a bit odd but I put a section of the stabilizer in the freezer and it worked better for me. I only cut to size put it in the hoop and then into the freezer.

Happened to me too, but with some from another person, Wieder I believe....40.00 or stabilizer and even IF I clean the needle with alcohol every color change as he told me, it is unusable....he told me to send it back....SO I tried and it was 22.00 to send back...I am so furious with it and the company I will not do business with them again.....ANY other I have gotten has NEVER done this before so its interesting to see the comment about too much adhhesive...very interesting.....anyway, GL to you, hope you do better than me....and flowers so you all...

I have never had a problem with their sticky, and I use it all the time. They are very easy to deal with, I am sure they will let you send it back if you don't like it

Yes, they did offer that. I would really like to keep it because I bought a big roll and have uses for it.

I always have trouble with the sticky stablizer - I never could get a roll that worked for me right.

Any sticky stabilizer or spray has the capacity to gum up your needle. One thing that has helped me is keeping my machine super clean and dust free.

Contact Allstitch, you may have gotten a roll with too much adhesive on it.

ever tried to put tearaway stabelizer underneath the item you are embroidering? I do karate uniforms and i do a lot of patches with names on them so to keep mine from gumming up i do that and it has worked fine. roberta
