For me it is time to walk away from the machine after several broken needles and enough "birdsnests" I've cleaned up to fill a small wastebasket. It's time to walk away when I have ripped out a design more than twice or when I refill the bobbin on a fsl design; finish stitching it out then finding out it isn't the same color as the one I had started with.
I'm sure there are more but those are all I can think of at the moment! lol

sewbadly, that is so funny - you gave us a great visual. I usually have my machine running all the time, when I am at home.

I just bring my cup of tea down here to my sewing room, eat my food, play on the computer and watch TV all at the same time! Have the ironing board always up! So you're not alone in feeling like this.

Trevor says all I need is a microwave down here and a fridge and I wouldn't ever have to come out of here! There's a bed just next door! Hmmm! Now that's a thought, only joking he he he!

It's a great feeling watching your embroidery grow isn't it?

Love and blessings Chris

I'm with quilter. I love being retired and spending my days playing.

NO!NO!NO! It is not just you. I also feel like I have hit the "jackpot" each time I retrieve a freebie. I am almost to the point of saying this is more addicting than quilting, but I do use most of my embroidery designs in small quilts, wall-hangings, small projects, purses, and etc. It is fun all the way though....that is why I worked hard those 28 years so I could retire and PLAY and that is what I am doing and enjoying every minute.
