I asked the same thing. My dealer is trying to get me to buy Monogram Works. $170 dollars. You can download and try for free for 30 days. Someone also suggested Ann the Gram and there is a program called Alphabet Express you can try for 30 days as well. It is only $50. I am trying that program out now.

I got Stitch Era Universal from Loralie Designs. Free but paid for shipping to get the CD. Took me a while to learn it but I use it every day. Love it. They have a new upgrade and I'm afraid to do it because I like the old program so well. I use it to add lettering to designs so it is a one step embroidery process. Saves time and centering problems. I tried My Editor but it changed all my pes to ngs files. I uninstalled that program quickly! I use Wilcom Truesizer to resize and Pulse Ambassador to change colors. They are free too. Good luck. I just got Stitch Era Universal. I seem to be able to pick up on it pretty well, but I am having trouble. When I added lettering to a design I went to the save as button and it wont save it in pes. Do you have any advice on how to save it as pes?

Check out designers gallery. It goes with Studio hand in hand. It is made for the babylock I have it and you can do a lot with it. They let you try it out on their website. Suzanne

I have Designers gallery - given to me when I bought my Ellure plus. Are you able to add lettering to a design using this program? I thought it was only for cataloging your designs?

I guess it is Designers Gallery Studio Plus

Embird is a great program and well worth the cost. I have had mine since 2004, upgrades are inexpensive and the "how to" section provides answers quickly. Great program, low cost, reasonable upgrades, would not do without it. I have the same machine.

Embird is a great program, especially with the addition of iconizer plug-in. You can do so much with this program, love it, love it!!!

Neither free, but not really expensive either.... You can resize with the Ann The Gran Catalog Xpress - it is on sale now for $96 US - it is an organization program (like you have in Studio Plus but just for that purpose) and you can use it to change colors and convert formats. You can also resize with Embird Basic - that runs $144 US - and it does many of the same things the ATG software does - and more (like combining designs, removing design elements, etc.).

As long as you already have Studio Plus, I would get Sizeworks. I have that, and Densityworks. Colorworks now comes bundled with the main program, so you should have that. Sizeworks is phenomenal. Way past the 10-20% the machine lets you do. And it recalculates the stitches so smaller doesn't become dense, and larger sparse. I have even resized fsl from 4x4 to 5x7 with no problem. I have just done the upgrade to Studio 3, which allows me to see jpgs, and to edit and combine designs. BTW, I also have an Ellageo.

Hi, I had an Elegante and traded it in for an Ellisimo. I have had Designer's Gallery and Customworks since I bought my 1st Babylock machine to sew and embroider. The Designer's Gallery (Studio Plus)will help you organize your designs and do some basic things like resizing, checking for desity, etc. Customworks can be used for merging designs, etc. Palete is for digitizing. They are pricy, but easy to use.

My Studio Plus doesn't resize. It does catalog, reduce thread changes etc. But no resize. I have checked out the other Designer's Gallery products, Very expensive.

BTW, why did you trade up to the Ellisimo?

I am surprised you didn't get a package deal with your Ellageo - but nonetheless - Babylock has several software packages - that you could purchase through your dealer - Palette & Designer's Gallery. What are you using now - to get your designs from your PC to your machine. Maybe that has a resizing & editing already in it, as the two above programs do.

All I have is Studio Plus. I can transfer my designs with that. I can arrange mulitiply designs with my machine, but would like to be able to do it on the commputer. Don't make me feel bad about not getting some with my purchase...:-(

shirlener88 by shirlener88 12 Sep 2010

I didn't mean that you would have gotten it with your purchase - they usually try to sell it to you - when you purchase - the Palette is a great program - you can do lots with it - couldn't you also buy the added sizing one for Studio one?

Link for a free program posted the other day. I haven't worked with this program yet. While reading the tutorial listed under Help and clicking on Operations it says you can resize and merge designs.
