What a lovely idea. Your grand daughter is very lucky to have you. Janie
Hi my mom was named Janie! People tell my daughter she is the lucky one to not have to go buy.One day if it is o.k. i might post Claire's gown I made for her dedication @ church. It was hand emb. so I don't know if it is OK.And no, it is the other way around, we are lucky to have her, she is so sweet.
This is adorable! You know God gives special children to special parents and grandparents... Blessings to you for letting go. :) Social skills are very important for ALL children and they learn that at school especially at a young age. I'm sure you got several orders from this one little special design. Hugs, Terre
Thank you for the blessing, as for US, I don't think of us as special, but I will tell you what my daughter told the chaplain @ the hosp. where the twins were born. The chaplain was with the Drs when they came to talk to my daughter and her now X-husband.It was just after Isabella, Claire's identical twin died(she lived 19 days), they came to tell us that Claire had mutiple disabilities, caused from complications of a condition called Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome. It is a long story but the Chaplain told my daughter that she expected her to ask "Why Me, Lord" instead my daughter turn it around and told the chaplain "Why not me Lord, you know I will take care of her. The Chaplain said instead of comforting my d. my d. inspired her. And no I don't sew for public,no extra time, however I have made a 14 yr old some teenage theme bibs. Stranger I met @ hosp. His mom said so degrating to have to where Bibs(they drool sometimes) so I got add. & you know the rest of story.Hugs back to U-Toogie
It sure does seem that particularly big challenges either end up with the strong ones (like yourselves) -or else they make you strong. Well done for all you do. This challenge has fallen on a very nice person! I think it's great that you've even managed to find other people deserving of the occasional little surprises :)
Claire is so lucky to have you as her Grandmother. That is a darling bib for her to wear at school. All the best to her as she start a new stage in her life. Give her a hug from me. Hugs Lynn
What a special bib for a special little girl. Well done. They might all want 1 like Claire's now. Hugs Yvonne
I am glad all is going as well as it is! You can not protect them all of their life but it sure is hard to turn loose when there are so many "what ifs"! She sounds like she does very well for herself. The bib is very cute and I am sure she loves it. It was made just for her by someone very "special'! I pray that she continues to do well out in the public with the children her own age. Kids have a special way of welcoming those that are different, especially at that age. As long as she has self confidence she will be welcomed by most everyone no matter what her disibility is. My heart goes out to you, the family and to your grand-daughter. I am sure this is a hard time just trying out the waters. Given the chance, she may fit in very well! You will never know if she does not try it! Kids have a special way of being understanding. It is usually when they are older that they begin to falter a bit. Sometimes when their lives get busy with everyday things, they forget to be kind and caring like they were when they were younger. Good luck to all of you and a special prayer for a SPECIAL little girl!
Such a nice letter. Claire loves to hear kids (one dis.is blind) and she responds with laughter. We have always taken her EVERYWHERE so she already is very social.Thank you for the prayers, she can always benefit from them. You are so thoughtful. I do worry about those what ifs, but my daughter spent the first few days at school with Claire, just to show them how to care for her, and my d. said that when they went to lunch, the teacher said she may lose her job for this, but they would always say grace B/4 they ate.It helped ease my worry.
How very sweet of you to make Clair this for her school - just so special for her - and I agree with everyone at school she has the smartest Gram with a very smart machine - Hehehe!
