This is from Stick Bar (bear). I was so disappointed. These are the same as the others that are still on WSS that I posted a couple of days ago.

That would be so disappointing to do all that work on the fsl and not have it turn out. Not only the time to stitch them, but the thread and WSS is not cheap either.

I wish everyone that posts designs would let us know if they have been test stitched or not.

I test stitch all my designs before I stitch them out on anything good, even the ones I buy. I've had a few not so good ones that I paid good money for also. *4U

This was supposed to be tested. Maybe it really isn't FSL? I might try it again on organza to see how it will look.

Without a doubt, I would contact the owner of the site. Maybe there is some way she can remedy this or perhaps offer a different design. Definitely email her the picture so she can see what happened!!

It looks to me as if the foundation stitches are missing underneath the sections that have come unravelled.
Have you contacted the digitiser and told her/him?

If you would like to send the design to me I will have a look and see if I can fix it for you, then it won't be a waste of an otherwise lovely design.
Hugs n roses, Meganne

Thank you Meganne. I deleted it from my files, but if you wouldn't mind, I might got back and d/l again and send it to you to see if you can fix it. I would appreciate it. I know how the copyright laws are and I think we are within that aren't we? Thanks again.

meganne by meganne 18 Sep 2010

Well if you tell me where it was from I can download it myself and look at it as long as it was free as I don't want to pay for something I know I'll have to fix. :-)

Oh my, this turned out worse than I first thought when I looked at the first pictures you posted a few days ago, and I commented then I thought it was poorly digitized. I'm sorry you had problems and as you know, I wasn't being critical of your work. :-)
Thank you for showing the end result, and I hope you can find a pretty design that works for you.

For the record, I have stitched many of 'sewinhuggs' designs she has so generously shared with us in DBC and they all stitch beautifully. Even when I use regular sewing thread that I bought in a big box at the thrift store years ago.
I wish I could give you more than one flower!

Thank you Mary Ann, I know for a fact you weren't being critical, and I thank you for your advice. I will look for sewinhuggs designs and try them. Are they FSL's? That is what I'm looking for right now. Thanks again and I'll take the one flower also. hehehe...

maryanns66 by maryanns66 17 Sep 2010

Yes they are FSL and she has several coaster designs to choose from. Her digitizing skills are excellent.
I wish I had the links for you or a way to search in the DBC section.

sewinhuggs, I love your designs...can you tell? LOL Seriously you have shared so much with us and I hope soon I can actually share some pictures with you and everyone of your designs I've been able to stitch so far. Your style of FSL is very different from any I've ever stitched...and I love your style! Big hugs and smiles to you, too!

thank you, I think I d/l but didn't realize they were coasters. I'll have to do a few and take them with me.

sewinhuggs by sewinhuggs 16 Sep 2010

Yes they are coasters. But when I created them I did so making the design to stitch out very dense. Several of the cuties are using a cloth or felt backing to make them stronger. Also if you look up my name sewinhuggs and fsl you will find other coasters that I have uploaded to this site And I will say each design that I have submitted, I have test stitch it out. If you have any questions concerning any of my designs, feel free to ask. Have fun stitching.

I know you are verry dissapointed, but give it an other try. Look for good FSL like ABC or buy from Mygardened. She has an offer now i thought and what I made from her they are all great from the hearts, dragonfly, hummingbird and several doily's. For the free always try one before you make an lot. Anyway give it an other try it is realy great to do (don't forget taveerne and Lianne.de) Yvonne

FSL Doily in 2 sizes would work for Coaster for you
link to ABC Embroidery.
Register on the top right side.

Go back to the link page and click on the second line in the middle section that says Free Design Archives

Find the Lace Doily on the left side and click on the words beside it that says, Go to Download Page.

There you can download the format that you can use.

I see why she is disappointed with this. If she used the right water stabilizer and the right amount of layers and they look like what she is showing then they are done poorly as you can see if you zoom in they are not together very well. We all are looking out for each other here to show the good and bad.

keeponsewing by keeponsewing 16 Sep 2010

I personally used the right WSS, just didn't get all of it out, because it started falling apart. As you can see the stitches didn't connect in some areas. The picture from the website might not have been an actual stitch out, but an image from the computer. :)

There is a Free FSL Doily in 2 sizes at ABC Embroidery in the Archive Free Designs that the small size would work for coasters.

You have to register you email address and a passwaord on the right hand side at the top of the page link.
Then go back to the link page and in the middle section click on the second line that says Free Design Archives.
Scroll down and on the left side of the free designs find the Lace Doily design (in 2 sizes) and click on the small words go to download page.
There you can download the file format for the Doily.
I can't remember if you have to wait for approval from them or not after registering but there are some nice free designs there so it is worth it.

Here is the link.

If you have problems let me know.

I don't think stitching them on Tulle or Organza would be any better as these appear to not be digitized right.

There is a coaster - free on ABC Embroidery that you may like.
It is in the Archives of the free designs.
You have to register but it is easy.
I will find the lonk for you and post it here.

At first I thought they looked great, when you showed them on the stabilzer but when you zoom in on the coaster you can see the threads that have come undone. This is really too bad with all the money spent on thread and the time spent doing them. I am sure they weren't stiched out in twenty minutes. Now, I complete one and if I like it then I continue with the rest,I have learned the hard way too many times. Did you write to the comapany where you got it from maybe they can give you tips? I can feel your disapointment! Anna

Thanks Judy and Linda, but I put this up here so if you ever decide to try a FSL be sure to do only 1 as a test. I wasted a lot of thread and each one took over 30 min... It was beautiful until I rinsed the WSS out. ;)
