it is a very good machine, check the price around, very expensive, Take it to a dealer and ask for a free estimate and then you could make a better decission.
I had one of these and loved it but unfortunately one of the computer boards went and Janome don't make the parts any more. I was very disappointed.
I am sorry yours broke down. I hope that's not what's wrong with this one.
My friend has one. Yes it is a good machine. Look online from the company for a dealer in your area. Call them tell them the problem and take it in. I had a friend who picked up an old Pfaff on the internet, she took it to the local dealer he fixed it for about $150.00 - Runs great - It is a several Thousand dollar machine. Your dealer will tell you if it is worth fixing.
Ok, I will. I am glad that your friend got such a wonderful deal. Thank you for your reply!

Janome is a good brand. All my machines are Janome and I have never had a problem with them.
BUT we are the wrong people to ask. You need to ask your dealer if it is worth fixing. It is computerised, so you need to ask an expert if it will be worth your money to get it fixed. Sometimes it costs so much to fix things that you would be better of buying a new one.
Well thank you so much for your reply. I will have it checked. If it costs too much to fix it, I won't do it, since I have other machines already.
This may be a silly answer but if it is a sewing AND embroidery machine, did you check to see if it is in 'embroider' mode? If it is, it won't 'sew'. Have you thought of that?
I don't think that it is an embroidery machine the same way that my Bernina is. It has a lot of decorative stitches though.
Stitchship, I believe you are asking it this machine is of good enough quality to be worth fixing. I have a Janome Memory Craft 10001 and it is a wonderful machine. Janome has a good reputation for quality. My first machine was a Sears Kenmore (actually made by Janome) and it ran smoothly from 1966-1989. I made all the clothes for myself and my 2 daughters so it got a lot of use. It still ran when I replaced it-I just got a good deal on a newer model (another Janome made for Sears) that I used until 2005. I never took either of these machines into the shop! I bought the Janome Memory Craft 10001 because of my past experience with the ones they made for Sears and I wanted an embroidery machine. I am very happy with it. So, in my opinion, it is definitely worth at least checking to see if it can be fixed for a reasonable price. Kathy
Thank you for your reply. I will find someone here, if there is one, and I will take it to them.
this sounds like iether the motor has burnt out or the computer frame has been damaged.
try phoneing the janome head office in your country and ask for the technical adviser and explain to them wehat is happening.
plus please read my private message to you s yhat also may help find a solution to your problem.

Thank you I will. There has to be someone in this State that could tell me that.
I agree with the others, but do you have the manual that comes along with it? Quite important to see what else you may do to get it going. Yes take it to the dealer for a quote and be sure to price out the new ones.
I am sure that some cuties own one of these machines. They will answer you shortly. Unfortunately I know nothing of Janome machines but why do you not take it to a Janome shop and ask for a quote only ? If they can do that for you then compare the price of a new one (or 2nd hand) and decide if it is worth fixing.
I will have to look for a place here that has experience with Janome, but... I don't want to buy another machine... I have several, I just want to save this one if it was good. If not, I will give it away to someone that might want the parts or something.
