Also wonder if it can be pressed with a press cloth over it.

Thanks for your help.

sometimes it depends of what type of mylar you use. The opal(clear shiny)mylar is washable. The colored mylars are less washable.Don't know about dry cleaning.

Sounds like as long as I stay with a washable fabric I am in business. May try getting some drycleaning fluid and try a small piece and see what happens. Thanks to all for your help.

I have used Mylar on tee shirts for my grandaughter and they have been fine in the wash and pressing on the wrong side.I used the Mylar from Heirlooms by Sharon. You can use a pressing cloth on the right side also. I have not had any problems with Mylar.I use up the scraps by sticking them on the fabric with a Esselte or Pritt glue stick. Hugs Lenore

You could sew a design out & tack it onto your jacket then take it off before Dry cleaning then re tack onto the jacket. also its easy to change the design or colour

I have it on a jumper and washed it several times and it is still as good as new but haven't needed to iron it

It will cost you some $$$ to test but you can go to the second hand shop and buy something that is dry clean only embroider the design on it and then have it dry cleaned and tell us how it turned out. I have used mylar designs on items that go into the washer and dryer no problems.
