I do miss it a lot, here in Dominican Republic they do not make Cuban Bread. Espero con Dios delante que todo salga bien, God bless you.

It's good the problem is going to taken care before serious problems. My DH also had a stent put in place but not before a 3 hour ambulance ride to Charlotte, NC. The procedure went well for him but he got a food wake up call. Being fit on the outside you would never know he had high cholesterol. Even on cholesterol medication and a proper diet the cholesterol still tends to be high. Will keep you in my prayers.

I'm sure everything will be OK. My husband had to have a stent in his heart & his leg. These days they do so much and then you can go back to a normal life. Good luck & I will keep you in my prayers. Arlene

My thoughts and prayers are with you Maria; the recovery should be rapid and eventless.
We should all be vegetarians, eating only complex carbohydrates, but I love bread, too.

Maria I will add myself to the Cutie Prayer Team. All will go well I am sure. The thought of no more carbs like you described is plain scary. I love the same food group. Can't wait to hear from you once back on line with us.

I am sorry you are having health problems. I had noticed that I had not seen you online or heard much from you but did not realized you were having problems. I will keep you in my prayers. I will send you an email later today. These Dr's today can preform miracles. I am sure you can eat some of the things you like afterwards, although you will have to do it in moderation. You take care and my thoughts are with you! Linda ----------- Will you have to stay in the hospital very long? I am not familar with this proceedure.

moderation? with sweets? Have you ever had a FLAN? hahahahaha Thanks.*****

katydid by katydid 23 Sep 2010

I love Flans. I am sure there are low calorie ones. I will help you find a recipe. I know it would be as you offered me a low calorie "Southern pecan pie". I just limit them to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Kay

mary51 by mary51 28 Sep 2010

There are but it does not taste at all.

keeponsewing by keeponsewing 30 Sep 2010

Ladies, ladies, ladies.... Have you not heard of Splenda for things like that? It doesn't leave the after taste like others and it is supposed to be better for you than other things. I use 1/2 of what is called for with sugar. I love using it in a salad with Italian dressing. Yum. (just 1/2 of one of those packs) hehehe

It's amazing what medical science can do these days. Many of my relatives, including my dad, my would not be alive today without some of these procedures. I hope everything goes well for you.

Thanks, yes it is amazing. The best thing is that if my heart "plumbing" need some extra work they will do it at the same time!!!I told the doctor that is the blockage is in the back of the heart, why worry about/ no one can see it...He laughed...LOL.
