for their advertised factory authorized service. But I found another sewing shop in town who does service on all makes and models so I got lucky. Now to wait and see what it's going to cost to repair. I had my son take it in so I would'nt be tempted by their new models. LOL! Maybe I'll go along when its ready to pick up, just for a peek at the new models. In the meantime I've ordered thread and stabilizer and a few other goodies. So I'm ready when my machine is. Hopefully it won't be too long of a wait.

Took my Singer to three shops and only one that could fix it was a hours drive. All said they no longer deal with Singer. Not the company it once was. Machines not a sturdy as they use to be. Mine broke down 6 times during the 2 year warrenty period. I just traded it in on a Baby Lock and no problems since. Singer had larger hoop but don't miss it not jamming up on me all the time. And I get free lessons for life with Baby Lock. And if I have a small problem I call them and they talk me through it. Still a beginner so lots of questions. I am into dog design (breeds) embroidery That way make a little money on side to keep up with what I spend on my hobby. I train and show dogs.

My next machine will NOT be a singer.

Sorry to hear you had trouble with your Singer, that's what I have too. I started having a problem about 1 year after I got mine. I called the 800 # and they had me send it back to the factory just south of Nashville. Only cost $25. for UPS and I had it back in 4 days. Sad to say it still had the same problem when I got it back. When I called them back they sent me a prepaid UPS label to send it to them again. This time we got it working. And they didn't even charge labor. They were a really nice group of people.

They sure want to sell their machines but when it comes to service many of them don't want that part. Good luck and I hope it doesn't cost you too much. I bought my PR600 machine in the Ft.Worth area (was just going to go look lol)but thankfully there is a place here in Bentonville that will fix it. I just picked it up to the tune of over $350. It better behave now. It needed a good cleaning but the thread cutter wasn't working so had to have that fixed also. The biggest part of the bill was the cleaning and adjusting.

I think they would rather sell you a new one than repair the one you have.

I make to DFW about once a year, the traffic scares me too much so I let someone else drive!I'm in Abilene.

Same thing here, no Brother service center anywhere near so I called a guy in the phone book and luckily mine was just the tension. If this thing goes out completely I will be forced to buy a better machine and since I only do projects for myself, family and friends gifts I can't justify spending too much! Hope your baby doesn't cost much to fix!

Bev, I am sorry your baby is sick. Hopefully it will be something minor that is an easy fix. H&*

I am in complete sympathy. My machine has also decided to go into early retirement!! I have had it to repairman, but after a few days of work it broke down again. I live 7hrs(on-way) from closest repair shop. Very frustrating isn't it.

I understand. I put 2 of my machines in the shop for maintainance and repair while I was away. Less time away from them and I don't have to miss them.

I don't think it will be too bad. He is to call with the info, but I gotta have it fixed so I'll wait and see.

It's a shame you don't have a dealer where you bought your machine. I bought mine in Birmingham Ala. and I live in Tuscaloosa and we have a dealer here so I feel blessed when i have to have my machine cleaned and they are good people. Having a good repairman makes all the difference in the quality and workmanship of your machine to last for years and years. Roberta

I actually bought it on HSN, but we do have a Singer dealer in town who advertises repairs but cant deliver. I think she needs to change her ad.

Sorry to hear about your machine, but glad that you have found someone nearer to repair it. I have to travel for over 2 hours each way to get my machine looked at so can relate to this well. Yes one does stand and look at the new machines and ?

I did not want to drive 3 hours one way and have to go back a week later to pick it up so I was happy to just go across town. And I sure did not want to send it by UPS or another carrier!

I hope it is something very simple and maybe they will service it for you in a pkg deal!
