Ok, now I understand...put a layer or two of LIGHT weight tear away on top, before you start embroidering. There is something on the market called dry cover, I believe,. I just use very light weight tear away.

Are you saying that you can see through the design? if so the design may not be suitable for a towel. The design needs to be digitized in such a way that it is dense enough to cover the towel properly. Sometimes a digitizer may create a design so that it will reduce stitch count and save time and thread. generally this would be for the use of commercial embroiderers who need to mass produce. If this is the case I and you have your heart set on that design I am not sure what you can do about it unless you have some digitizing software and you can perhaps add more underlay to the designs. I hope I am not way off track here.

I just did 50 towels and I put clear plastic, baby lock dealer sell it by the yard and the towels come out beautiful. You can take it out by hand when finish.

When I first started Monograming towels, my dealer said to use clear plastic like WalMart bags, and it would come out in the wash. It didn't and I had a mess! I tried to pick it out with a seam ripper and sizzors, but had a terrible time/. I read on Cuties to use WSS and have done that since. It washes out, Hugs, Judy

I just posted pics of some towels I did. First time I used a printed material. Design didn't cover the checkered pattern towel very well. Is this the type of problem you had. Any help would also be appreciated.

If it is see through stabilizer just spray it with water or dampen at the sink and rub your finger gently on it and it will dissolve.

It will wash away, if what you are calling "see through" is actually water soluble stabilizer. If not, I'm not sure what you are talking about.
