let it go! It is now in my bedroom and I don't know where I put the mousetrap I had! I keep telling her to go get the mouse but she gave up. The older cat was a good mouser but she is deaf so she has no knowledge that the other cat or a mouse is in that room! I'll LOL but right now I have a headache!

Slept great, that picture looks like the older cat, lol! I not sure where I put the mouse trap so I will have to look for it eventually. Mouse could have found it's way back out already, haven't seen it since last night here in the computer/sewing room.

I read this to my husband and he suggests you put the trap in close proximity to the mouse and get a hearing aid for the older cat. LOL. He is still laughing about this, men obviously don't take these things seriously. Hope you catch it soon and get some sleep. Hugs, Judy

The only thing I worry about it the mouse chewing on my computer or embroidery cords, lol. I last saw the mouse last night run into this room and I am sitting here barefoot so that should tell you that I am not worried about the little guy. I hand feed peanuts to the squirrels and they are just bushy tailed rats, lol! Tell hubby I am laughing too. I have been trying hand signals with the older cat to get the mouse. lol, it's not working!

I have heard that they will take it to the one they love to give them a present.

Yes, I have had cats for ages and been brought lots of gifts but most times they are only 1/2 there when I get them if you catch my drift, lol! So far the older cat hasn't sniffed it out and the last time I saw the mouse it was here in the computer/sewing room and I am in here barefoot so you see, I don't really care, not afraid of a little mouse, tried to grab it with my hand but it was too quick.
Well, I have to go to bed early, my tests at the hospital weren't till 9:30 this morning but I have to be back there at 8 tomorrow morning and maybe Wednesday morning too if they think they need a better look at things. The already added an extra MRI of my lungs for tomorrow so I suspect they have seen something there.

I have have been using the sticky traps (took off finger nails with the other kind). Make a small hole in a box and place trap inside and lid it or close it so your cats can't get to the sticky part. Place along baseboard as that is where they travel. When trapped I take outside far away and spray vegetable oil on trap and feet. Walk away and the mouse gets its self free. Living in a forest we get walk ins about once every other year.

Wow, cool, never heard of that! I bought humane traps twice but my son borrowed them both and his former father-in-law broke them both. I hate to use a kill trap but if I have to I will, the mouse might already be out of here for all I know.

Isn't that what cats are supposed to do? Bring their spoils inside to show off for Mummy's approval???

My Himmy always bring his catches in through the cat window and promptly lets them go.

Thankfully the older cat and the "street smart" cat know they aren't supposed to play with their food so it isn't long before one of them makes short work of poor little mouseys change of residence.

On a more serious note, please know that my prayers are with you, try and stay positive, don't live into your fears, it may not be as bad as you think.
Hugs and blessings, Meganne

Some of the posts have me smiling, lol! This mouse was a first for this cat, she just found a new toy, last I saw it was here in the computer/sewing room last night before I went to bed. Can't find the trap I had. The older cat use to catch and eat the mice but she hasn't figured out there is one here yet.
Day one of the testing is done and they added a test to tomorrow's of an extra scan around my lung so I thing they saw something there again. I am not afraid, had part of the lung removed last Oct. and did chemo and if I have to do it again I will, I am very strong, nobody can figure out why I have not cried or anything about it. I just know that it's in God's hands, not mine.

Good for YOU.
I never cried at all through the breast cancer, except the night I shaved off what was left of my hair. That upset me.
Now I keep it short by choice. Go Figure!!!
LOLLOLOLOL!!!
Prayers are in place and Angels being sent, you just stay strong for sure you'll win out.
Hugs n love, Meganne

Thanks Shirlene, it would take more than a little mouse to keep me awake, lol! I am not afraid of them or anything, they are really cute little things but he has relocated out of the bedroom and into the computer/sewing room. I am waiting to feel it run across my feet, lol. Kitty is in the chair ready to snooze so I guess maybe the deaf one will come in this room later and find it, she sleeps on my bed till I fall asleep then she moves to the couch in here.
Don't know when I will see the doc for test results but the testing is going to be 2 or 3 days, they haven't decided yet.

shirlener88 by shirlener88 27 Sep 2010

Nothing is more creepy to me - than a mouse - well - maybe what you are going through with the testing and such - that is scary to me, too. I hate waiting for test results.

Could the deaf cat be left in the bedroom to sniff it out? We had a mouse problem awhile ago & it took some time to get rid of them. Our dog just ignored them giving free run of the house-previous dogs always knew if one was around before us.Rat sack was no good ,had to resort to Talon which was hidden under or behind things where dog couldn't reach it. In the meantime try an put everything they might chew in plastic or tin containers, its amazing where they go & what gets chewed (must have been watching TV at night with us).If you a smell ,like someone has been using blood & bone fertilizer ,the mouse is dead- found 2 dead behind the fridge in the motor housing.

The deaf cat has been laying on my bed all evening waiting for me to come to bed so I am hoping she smells it out! There is so much junk our room I wouldn't know where to start, lol! We have a very small house and too much junk! I'll search for a trap tomorrow when I have time. Gotta shower now, try to sleep and have tests run at the hospital in the morning, afternoon, Tuesday and maybe Wednesday! Am hoping things turn out for the best in that area, doesn't seem like it will though. Seems like cancer is back.

Debra, when my daughter moved into the country (mind you she was pretty much raised city), one morning she opened her car door (she always left her windows cracked) and their in the seat was a DEAD mouse. She screamed and was so upset. hehehe. PiWacket (kitten at the time) was SO proud of that, she continued to bring her mice often. They weren't in her house, but the cat was having a hayday and would come up to Jess to let her know she found another. Needless to say she hasn't done that for a few years. It could be one of two things, PiWacket has gotten rid of the mice or she's gotten lazy. hehehe... I hope you catch the mouse soon. I'm not big on them either.

Terre, my older cat for that past 10 years has brought mice to the door for me (usually already dead) and once was able to sneak a chipmunk in that was still alive! I've had it all, dead baby bunnies and I won't describe their condition when I found them on the porch! LOL!

I think I would either run out and buy a mouse trap or close the bedroom door and sleep somewhere else tonight. Good luck.

eeek, I don't have any suggestions but the reason I have cats is because I hate mice, I hope your cat finds it and gets it out of your room so you can sleep.

My older one use to be so good at catching them but she has a bad heart and we just figured out about 6 weeks ago that she isn't ignoring us, she is totally deaf!
