If the machine is new and still under warranty you may void the warranty if you fiddle with it too much. Just a thought. Margaret

Clean out the area entirely then like was mentioned hit the mode button and return the arm into the body then turn it off and unplug it! If the arm is loose and wobbly there is a srew that is hidden under a maching panel on the side you will have to have a very thin srew driver to pry the panel off then just a regular screw driver to tighten it.
You must have had one doosey of a nest to knock the arm loose but it does happen with both the 300 and the 350e.
I use a tear away on the bottom and vilene on the top with towels.
If none of these works then the other very nasty thing that happened is that when you got in a bind it jumped time. Another favorite of the 300e. It is a simple dealer fix.But still costly.

Welcome to Cute. When embroidering towels etc. you have to use a water soluble stabiliser (WSS) on top of the design so the needle will not catch in the loops of the towel. This happened to my niece, and she kept breaking needles. Go to www.emblibrary.com then click on projects and you will get instructions on all different embroidering techniques. Margaret

Welcome Myrna, I don't have this machine, but I would suggest that if you have turned it off and let it rest a little then start back up, if it didn't correct the problem I would contact a dealer. Do you have a manual? Have you looked in the troubleshooter section? If you don't have a manual, you might be able to find one online at the Janome website. The link below is their learning center. Let us know if you get it fixed.

Welcome to Cuties where you will find some of the most wonderful ppl from all over the world.

The carriage should reset itself when you turn the machine off and on, try that. If it doesn't return to the machine you will have to have your dealer look at it.
