If your customer is from South Africa, she can go to her local Bernina dealer or call head office in Johannesburg. Please give me your web site
Hi Marthie, here is my website.
http://www.embroidery-allsorts.co...
Alice.
What a pain this turned into. I normally wouldn't whine but I really need to vent about this. First this person downloaded and paid for 3 of the same design, my fault I suppose because I should not have had the quantity option showing. (I have now recoded the website to take it away). So I noticed the mistake and went into paypal and refunded for the extra two. I sent a message telling her that I done this and why. No message back acknowledging this, I guess I am a bit old fashioned but don't people say thank you anymore. Then i get the message saying that she needed it for the above machine, I have a surf around the internet and can't find much about this machine. I am kind of curious about why she doesn't know what format her machine takes. I just figure maybe someone gave it to her and she did not have a manual for it. So I sent an email telling her that I was looking into it and that I thought PES should work. Then you wonderful guys all helped out. But no email back acknowledging any effort on my part. Then I get and email this morning demanding that I send the South African flag design in ART4 format. her order was for that USA flag not the South African flag. So i went online again for nearly 2 hours searching for some software to convert to the Art format, it would appear that this can only be done with Bernina software which you cannot get online, or so it would seem. So I have sent an email explaining that I could not help and all of the information that I had about her machine and that I had refunded her money for the design. All that for a $2 design that I had to refund anyway. I will be interested to see if I hear anything back.
Sorry about the negatives vibes I am putting out here but needed to get that off my chest. My husband doesn't get it.
Boy does she sound like a loser. I can see where maybe she was very frustrated but she shouldn't have taken it out on you, you bent over backwards to try and help her. Sorry you had such a bad day, hope you have a better one tomorrow!
Leenova, that was just the start of it, I woke up at 3.30 am, could not get back to sleep. got up at 4 and dealt with that stuff. got a phone call from my son 26 years old at 8.50 just as I was leaving for church, he rang to tell me he was to drunk to get his car home, implying I should come get it. then I got to church to hear the one of my friends 4 year old boy died this week, he had a serious medical condition, but so did his mum so I thought he would just make it like she has. I fell apart and had to go outside till I got it back together. I got home from church and phoned my son who was just beligerent. he was at my daughters place and I hung up on him when he started giving her an earful (he is not normally like this) then I find out he has left there drunk driving his car, drunk, apparently down to the highway to the Gold Coast (about an hours drive). Thank God he got home safe, but I am still pretty angry with him. Boy do I feel washed out right now. I should go to bed and pray for a better day tomorrow.
to think the only thing I was worried about when I woke up this morning is whether I should risk putting my Harley Davidson designs back on my website.
God really has a way of putting things into perspective.
Alice.
This is what a seller of the Bernina 180 told me so I hope you can figure it out. Good luck!
I combed through several manuels , and found a section on formating. I believe this to be an ART format. According to this manual, Art designs contain a complete set of design information in a single all-in-one file.It then states that Bernina Artista allows you to open designs in the following other formats:(the only difference is the file type) ART,ARX, PES, PEC, HUS,PCS PCD, PCQ, CSD, SEW, XXX, DST, and EXP. This information came from the Embroidery Software Manuel Version 3 page 216 and 217
Well done leenova54, I really appreciate the effort. I will let her know this info.
You are welcome! So many cuties have helped me so much that I was glad to be able to help another cutie!
I have no idea but I would advise your customer to contact Bernina directly: FREECALL 1800 237 646
This information took all of 1 minute to look up in White Pages online, which we often forget exists.
Hope this helps, hugs n roses, Meganne
Thank you, This lady downloaded a design from my website, so I don't know what country she is in. I stopped collecting that info because it might be interesting for me, but it is a pain for people to put all of there info in just to get a design. So I could not check the phone book because I am in Australia and I doubt that she lives in Australia too. But I will suggest that when I send her another email.
If it is very old it is very likely to be PES. My friends is about 10 years old (not sure of the number though) and it takes PES and needs a cardwriter box to work (only uses cards).
The 180 in the question makes me wonder if this is one of the bernina machines that worked on PES. I am not sure though. Try anything once and see what happens. Or find a Bernina dealer anywhere and ask them the question
I believe it is a very old machine and almost obsolete, but I could not find out much more than that when I googled.I did suggest that she should try PES that sort of made sense to me.
I'm working on it. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. On things like this, if nothing comes up good in google, go to ebay and you will probably find the same thing, then just ask the seller the question. They don't have to know that you aren't planning on bidding. I have asked 2 sellers so I should hear back from someone today.
If you can't find the format I would try all the formats and see which well go in the machine I would start with the format art I think that is the format for the bernina . hope this helps
Bump to the top for others to see!
sorry but I don't know the answer, consult your users manule, it must tell you what format the mchine will use.
Thank you, but it is not my machine, I have had a question from a customer, I googled but there is not much out there about that machine except for it seems to be a quite old and almost obselete, i just thought a cutie might know what forma it requires.
