169064I have done it. the shopping is done. I have put the cold stuff in the fridge but the rest of it is still all over the kitchen bench. But I think small steps are good.
19430I just have to force myself to walk away! Today I took boxes of garage sale items to the attic because though my Mom wanted to have the sale she couldn't get it ready, while in the attic I pulled out all my warm clothes and then took all the shorts and tank tops up and now I am in the process of getting the trash ready to take out for morning pick up but couldn't resist popping in here to see what was going on!

33580Yes I find the only way to stop myself is to turn the computer off. Though as you can see I turn it back on. Did my shopping and took the kids to school already.

211079sounds likea plan.....I am on my laptop right now because my computer blew up this morning, and I HOPE my husband can save the files on it before we have to pitch it....because IF he can not...ALL 1500 plus designs are GONE..so lets hope...but I think of all the time I have had here....too, so I am here with this laptop refusing to believe that it is all gone....NOW also how do I brake the addition???? I guess an outside force is trying to tell me something, but alas here I am on the laptop going about it as if nothing has happened...lol....Hugs to you all and keep me in your thoughts and LETS HOPE..Thanks for listening...

That's awful!!! Get yourself a flashdrive and save your designs - regularly - on it. You can't break the addiction but you can save your designs.

Hope hubby can save your designs, I am so glad I got a flash drive although I am in need of doing an update cause I can't stop downloading designs!

How frustrating, I have a real love hate relationships with computers I am good at breaking them because I am fearless, but I am also good at fixing them. But here are some tips. I think it unlikely that your hard drive is the problem, it may be but they are usually fairly hardy. If the computer is beyond repair, pull the hard drive out and get an external hard drive enclosure, put the old hard drive in it plug it into your laptop and you should be able to get your designs off it. If for some reason this does not work you might have success with a little free program called recuva, it can recovered deleted files as long as they have not been over written.
A USB flash drive is a great idea but they have been known to die without warning, so regularly back your designs up to a cd. The other trick is zip them up into reasonable sized folders and email them to yourself. then save the email in a folder, this will work with Yahoo mail, probably not hotmail and I am not sure about others, but it is easy to open a yahoo account if you don't have one.

OK and Thank you ALL for the suggestions....I am copying and pasting this entire conversation and sending it to myself in an email so I have it when he is ready to work on it this week end...I have a flash drive almost full of designs shhhhhh.....but ya know the downloading is half the fun lol....but ya know some of the ones on the that hard dive are my favorite alphas....OH YEA did I mention I am a REAL alphaholic....shhhh on that too.....Thanks again and ya know I am downloading on this laptop too....shhh to that too Hugs and flowers
