I did not know that they sold material - really bad when hubby is with you. LOL But, I found some of the peralized irridescent lame that I have been trying to find. DH walked up as I was getting it cut, and he told me that end of my house was going to fall off. LOL He asked me how much do you really think you need - answer? ALL OF IT. Now I guess that I need to get out there an do something with it. LOL So, after I get back from a family reunion tomorrow evening, I plan on stitching and having some fun in my end of the house. So, angels, butterflies, and maybe more will get done in the next coule days. I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday. Woo Hoo!!!

Since my daughter is employed by Hobby Lobby it is one of my fave stores, especially when I'm armed with my 40% off coupon along with her discount.

My dh usually goes with me when i go to the fabric store as the one I like to go to is a two and a half hour drive from where we live....but he does stay in the car. If by chance he does come in it's to get a cup of coffee. I laugh a lot to myself when I first go into the store as they have two long benches for the guys to sit and wait on and there are always some there. Think they enjoy it too as they can sit there and swap hunting and fishing tales or talk about the good old days. Know you loved Hobby Lobby just leave hubby home next time or give him something to go hunt for while you round up your goodies.

My hubby goes or should I say takes me to anywhere I want to go. We don't have the same kind of materiel stores you do, but we have fabricland. I have quite a stash from there. The one that was here where I live closed out a couple years ago and my hubby took me there and was even trying to pick out some materiel for me. I actually went there about 3 times before they closed - sure liked the 70% off. Hubby always carries whatever I buy so he always just tells the clerks at I buy and he carries.

Glad that you had a great time.
Some time ago, I heard that a Hobby Lobby was going to open in Orlando near the Fashion Square Mall. I sure hope so! *4U

I couldn't help but laugh at all your stories. I have a wonderful DH and he DOES GO with me most of the time when I am buying fabrics. He even helps me pick out some or he will even add to my stack of bolts. He loves helping me with colors and tweaking my quilts or blocks or whatever I am doing and I love it, as he has a keen eye for color. When I go to the closest quilt shop which is over 50 minutes away, and I am teaching there, he is ready to see all the fabrics I get when I get home....he is so supportive and helps me pack and unpack all my stuff when I go to a retreat or festival like this past week. I have always had sewing stuff around him after all he married a home economics professional person....extension agent 4 years, HE (Family & Consumer Science) teacher for 24 years. He and I built me a 12'x 24' house beside our house
just for my fabric and machines & stuff.....
Oh, by the way, one reason he doesn't mind what I do, is that he has been building and working with computers for years as a hobby....but our son is a computer engineer, so I have the best of 2 worlds.
But I bet if we counted it up....I SPEND more.....
But it is so much fun.....

see my comment to Bikermomfl - maybe we can set and make a day of it. There is Michaels over that way too. I still work, so need to make sure I can get a day off - which should not be a problem.

Oooooo how exciting, maybe another cutie to meet up with us, then Hobby Lobby, Joanns, LUNCH, what more could we ask for, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Hi, I live in Jax. and I have not been to a HL. So I am game. It would be fun to get together with other Cuties. Sue

suezz by suezz 10 Oct 2010

When I was reading the other posts I saw Christian music and I realized I had been to HL. I go to Joann's a lot because of all the coupons I get. The newspaper here does not have the coupons like it use to. Still would be fun to go and make a day or whatever of it. Keep me posted.

I have to add my 2 cents in. I love Hobby Lobby stores. A few years ago I got into beading jewlery. And quess what, so did my husband. After that, he was the one dragging me around to all the local fabric and crafts stores. Now that he has loss interest in it. I go by myself or he waits in the with a book. What would we do without them, we got to love them.

I do not have one of those stores in my area but when I do go fabric shopping and if hubby is along, I make him take a book along, tell him to sit in the car. He is usually happy with that alternative. Most of the time I try and go alone. Have fun stitching the next few days. Hugs, Mary

OH my - a Hobby Lobby has some great fabric - I also like that right after or just before a Holiday - everything they have in the store for that Holiday goes on sale - I have one sorta close - but not close enough for a drive that DH wouldn't want to go with me - I could maybe walk fast and get what I wanted - before he got there NOW - that isn't even nice to think that way - I am sorry - Hehehe! But needless to say - I haven't been in one for a very long while.

I did laugh right out loud when I read this - however.

Beth, I LOVE HL... The ladies in the fabric section know me by name. hehehe... It is the only fabric available to me unless I go 45 miles away. :(. Check out their website. You will find coupons which can be used once a visit. You can also see what the specials are in the store before you shop. It will be worth the drive if you have nothing else around. Make a morning of it. BTW if you listen to the music they play only Christian... They are closed on Sundays. You can ck online Sunday afternoon for their weekly specials. You are going to be a busy woman with all that to make. But isn't it fun?

One of the fabric stores I visit on vacation is next to a Borders books and the other is next to a hardware store, so DH is busy while I'm busy. Good planning on the store's parts
