When you have finished a large project here is what to do with the extra stabilizer. (this is WSS but can be used with others)... Take a smaller hoop and find a smaller design and used the leftovers for it. Saves lots of money this way. I have a large ziplock bag with remains.

We can't waste anything - especially our WSS. I keep a glue stick next to my machine. This is washable disappearing purple school glue stick made by elmers. When I work with all of the lace that I do, I usually have 2 layers, or more. But, I am now using the glue stick to put one of the layers on, and that allows me to use the scrap pieces.

I piece smaller pieces of WSS together using wash away thread to fit the hoop that I want to use. Today I did a lace/mylar Christmas ornament.I need to learn how to post pic of my projects. You're doing a great job on the ribbons.

And so do I, I keep my scraps in a plastig bag to keep it soft. Even the tear-away pcs I keep, but only if they're big enough to use for a small design. I know that I Need to save where-ever I can. Do a lot of these projects as freebies while I'm still learning my machine.

This is so funny. As I was doing projects last night till 3am. I was wondering what to do with the smaller pieces. Thank you so much for the tip. I wish I could find mini designs(PES) for my smallest hoop.

Great use of your left over WSS - I usually just attach a few while still in the hoop - where did you get this lovely ribbon Terre?

it came from B&L Crafts. They are small but handy and easy to stitch out.

Oh - thanks - don't think I have ever been to that site.

I not only save and piece together, I keep saving the little and the littler pieces from the saved pieces. I'm such a cheapo.
I felt so bad about doing this in the beginning. I thought I was the only one on the planet. So nice of you to mention it here for the new ladies. Wish I had seen it somewhere 4 years ago. I wouldn't have kept my stash hidden if somebody came in!
What did we ever do without zip bags? And I'm so old that I remember when they came out. We got samples in the mail and my husband HATED them. Wow, has he changed.

This hobby is so expensive in the long run (won't give it up for the world though)that it doesn't hurt to save wherever we can
