He is beautiful! I would love to live where I could have all kinds of animals around me. Do you get turkey eggs?
Oh how magnificent is he!!!!
We have 2 duck families at the new house and I saw two bushy tailed possums chasing each other up and down the tree between our property and next door.
I've heard possums are a nuisance and I must admit they left a lot of droppings all over the veranda.
Would love any advice you can give me on whether or not I should encourage the ducks and possums to stay around.
Do possums hurt cats??????
I've never had this kind of wildlife close by before now.
Hugs n love, Meg
Never heard of bushy tailed possums! Possums will hurt anything that corners them.
Duck and goose droppings have much bacteria so wash off the veranda well and often. I love wildlife!
Beautiful . we had 3 wild turkeys that came up in the yard and I would feed them a few years ago some people moved in down the road and our turkeys started to disaper one at a time untill they were all gone.sure miss them Lenamae
What a handsome fellow he is too. I can see why you love him. No wonder all the females are going after him He is a fine looking dude! Suzanne
Kerry, What fun to live with the wild life you have in your yard!
Kerrie, he is gorgeous! I'm glad in a way that we don't celebrate Thanksgiving as much as our lovely American friends do.
You must have a lovely garden for all your animals - I'd love to see it in full!
Love and blessings Chris
hi Chris, he is lovely, the only thing is when we let our animals instead of searching out grass etc, they all tend to just stay close to us...they have so much space but love our company...and when I am on the phone turkey always goes gobble gobble and amuse the people on the phone, he is loud and we have to lock him up so I can have a conversation on the phone...
WOW! you have such a wide variety of wildlife so special...Hugs Sally
and there is his girl friend the one in the middle her name is Tara. the other little white one is a silky bantam and the black one is a plain old chook and of course me with the king parrot taken just before...Nature at it's best I say.
I want that parrot, lol! I had a peach faced lovebird, I loved her so much but I am allergic to birds and had to give her to a breeder. She laid 5 eggs and would make a good mommy bird, I am hoping she did.
here ya go.
Yes, he is magnificent - but beware if they think you are scared of them - they will come after you! I had that happen many years ago at my mother-in-laws. Their turkey took a dislike to me and I couldn't go outside at all if he was loose. They'd have to get him elsewhere so I could even go from the house to the vehicle.
Would you look at the proud turkey - he is magnificent.
My Mother (Miss Loretta) had been chased by a turkey on her GM's farm as a child and she spoke of that often.
