At the moment there seem to be a lot of designs posted in DBC where only the clipart is shown. I'd really want to know what the design was going to look like before I try them! This morning I was tempted to one which looked like redwork but then noticed it had 10 colours and 14000 stitches! Am I nit-picking or do others agree?

I totally agree, for several reasons.
1. You want to see what the design looks like.
2. As a rule you can't share the original artwork (unless it's your own drawing) but you can easily download the picture - so that's a no-no.
3. As a digitiser the only way to see if your design is OK is stitching it out, the software only gives an indication, but it does not account for push and pull of the fabric. So you HAVE to try it out and learn from that. You'll be making the same mistakes over and over again otherwise.
4. If you really don't have the time to stitch them out, ask for test stitchers, and wait for the result before you upload them - after all there's no way to edit the posts in DBC.

I agree..
All of my designs I have placed in DBC
are shown by my own actual stitch out photo..
I have to know myself they are good before I share..
I also state that its the pes format I have tested,
as that's what my machines use..
I cant test other formats at the moment but
I save to format from the original design..
I dont just convert formats.

Wholeheartedly agree.

If designs are not TESTED they should be marked as such.

If they are tested, then it is only right to expect a photo of the stitch-out to appear with the uploaded design. It is not that difficult to do that and any digitiser who is proud of their work is only too proud to show the end result stitched out.
