gone I'm done for the month. He thought I was spending too much on embroidey!! Can you believe that--lol!! Anyway, he decided to let me have my child support card and use that not knowing that was actually more--lol--and can you guess wether I told him that or not? I thought I didn't have enough money again til next week---OMG--I couldn't wait that long to get back on!! I started freaking and my husband was looking at me like I was crazy. He just doesn't get it. It's a bad addiction. Anyway. THANK GOD ALMIGHTY--I had just enough--WHEW! I do believe the three greatest things God ever created was Coke, Chocolate and Cute Embroidery!! Not necessarily in that order--lol. I'm gonna be OK now! THANK YOU GOD FOR THIS SITE!!!! AMEN!!!

We each have our own hobbies and I have my own account for getting what I need for sewing etc. Sew hi something he will enjoy. What is his addiction?

Oh ladies you are all so funny. I spend alot of time trying to hide all of the stuff I bring in the house. Between my quilting and embroidery obsessions you can imagine. And I never let him see the paypal bill he would have a cow. I just keep thinking when I retire I will already have all my supplies LOL. Hugs Lisa

That's why I was so happy when emblibrary accepted paypal. I have no creditcard and always have to ask my GH for his; no I'm independent (alright: as long as there is money on the bank ;o).

Upcoming retirement is my spending excuse, too. "Honey, I want to have my sewing room ready for when I retire and don't have any extra money!" Luckily for me, it is my money I'm spending, not his!

I have the answer to all those Husband problems you all seem to have.

Encourage them to buy lots of power tools for themselves. Show them the ads when there is some boys toy on sale and say "why don't you get yourself one Sweetheart".

Then they can't possibly complain when you buy something girly.

Works for me! :-)))

asterixsew by asterixsew 16 Oct 2010

Well if he does then you HAVE to have another machine and increase the spending on designs

I'm full of hope for saving: Survived 3 months without membership while waiting for the next special-sale ;o)
But I was still her every day so I'm also addicted!
This post reminds me on my favorite designs (there are some more of that kind) from emblibrary about fabrics *lol*
Greetings, Bettina

I love your humour. Thank goodness my husband has no idea what I spend money on as I am lucky enough to have my own money. I think he would have a huge surprise!!!!

Ha, ha you are funny. You know you could have waited until next month when your embroidery allowance was refurbished. You know we don't go away and you can always catch up with the downloading. My husband never knew how much I spend on my hobbies and now since he is gone all decisions are my own. Sigh :(

My husband made the mistake of giving me a silver pig money box in which he had put some gold coins ($1 & $2 )for my birthday a few years ago .It was not emptied until it was full (about 10months) what a lovely surprize & now all gold coins still get put in it .We never missed the money & have been able to buy items from my wishlist. Also helps when you pay the bills.

I love the change box. We have collected up to $900.00 in ours, but it is not mine it is a habit that my husband has always been in.

Well I figure if my hubby can spend money on cigarettes and Mt. Dew, then I get my little fix as well....

I agree with you on the 3-C's. They all give me a lift. Love your sense of humor!
My husband is very easy going. I sort of use reverse psychology on him, and he always backs me up with my decision. So if I want to get more designs, he would say: "Honey, you know what you need. It's up to you". Try it sometimes. It works!

Thank goodness I am the one that pays the bills. We are sugarcane growers and hubby is busy farming the crop. I very quickly get the credit card bill when it arrives and put it in my purse. I had a birthday in September and am still buying myself presents. Soon it will be Christmas so I will have another excuse to get more designs. LOL. Then there will be Easter...... talk about "addicted".

I am having a good chuckle here, also in Australia.I can completely understand where you are coming from. My expenses are more related to maintaining and improving my website, but it is related to embroidery none the less. My husband is more like blah blah blah, when will we see this website making some money, blah blah blah. I now have a few sneaky little accounts with a few dollars in them that he doesn't know about. If I did not have my website I would never have come across cute and met all of the wonderful people here.

Oh my goodness, we truly are a bunch of addicts, lol! Where is my next hit going to come from? At least we don't rob our neighbors to pay for our "habits", though sometimes what hubby doesn't know won't hurt US!!!

Ok ladies, it could be worse....I am a quilter & I have been collecting fabric for over 35 years.....
my husband has never known anything except me and my habits....I told everyone that was the reason I worked all those years was to support my HABIT.....
even my students would give me a hard look when I said it in class....but just think about all that we buy for embroidery and etc. and then ADD on the quilting books, fabrics, batting, patterns, classes and etc. that I spend and then you can say you have a problem....I also know that there are several 'cutes' out there that are like me also...it does get expensive, but you learn how to buy when sales are on and etc. There are ways... cause I am now retired and having a ball.....in both worlds......

I just made my first wall-hanging!! I love it. Thought I'd start small--now I'm ready to take quilting classes and make a quilt.

LOL...I do understand where you're coming from. DH thinks I spend to much too. He's going to faint when this month's bill comes in as I had to replenish a lot of stablizers and threads too and of course had to get some of those can't do without designs too...Have to curb it for the rest of the month for sure. As far as Coke, Chocolate and Cute being the 3 greatest things invented I'll go along with you there as I sit at the computer in "Cute", drinking my coke and having a bite of chocolate...Have a great day.
