Beautiful project! Makes a wonderful gift bag. Thanks for sharing
This is lovely, how long does it take to stitch out please. AND congratulations on posting your first pic on projects
Thank you asterixsew. I'm glad I could finally participate this way. I hope I can use the camera again soon. This design took about 1.5 hrs per side. I used the same thread in the bobbin as I did on top, so I hade to wind and replace the bobbin once toward the end of each piece. It takes awhile to stitch out, but I think the result is marvelous and will definitely do it again. Thanks so much.
It's roughly the same time stitching takes at our end. Which machine do you use?
Oh, I guess I was so excited to have access to a camera that could provide me with a file to upload here, that I forgot to "invert" it!! That's easy enough to turn it inside out, and it does look better with the finished edge on the outside (although it looks great both ways).
The red you see is just a plastic bag I stuffed in it for the photo, as I didn't have anything else on hand that was dark enough to show off the snowflake design on it. This was just my test run, but I think it is very nice to use as is, and will probably fill it properly and give as a Christmas gift this year.
Thanks for all your great comments. It is a wonderful design set and I love them.
I want to make this sometime - yours came out wonderful - great job!!*
Your Snowflake bag looks wonderful.
I am sure the digitzers will be happy to see that their designs are being stitched by our members.
Thank you for sharing your project with us.

i just love this bag! I downloaded the design a few days ago and want to make one, but it comes up stitch error? I use SEW format. I even converted the PES to SEW and still the same error. Any ideas on what i'm doing wrong?
hugs Lee
Perhaps your could try to download the designs again from the website and see if that works better for you or if you have the same results.
EastWitch2
thank you eastwitch... i tried that just now and still the same. It comes up stitch read error. I have no idea what that means. Maybe someone does out there in embroidery world.. :)
Can you convert another format that the design came in such as hus to your sew format.
Perhaps the pes version of the design is a newer one and your software doesn't recognize it.
EastWitch2
yep... did it again. Same error. grrrrrr. I really really like this bag. The error says. "stitch file read error"
In the zip file is the sew format there for the design? the website mentions that they offer the designs in the sew format!
EastWitch2
The designs fit in a 5x7 hoop would that have anything to do with your problem.
Now I am really crasping for ideas on this problem. LOL
EastWitch2
that might be the problem. My hoop is 4x4. But why would they offer SEW format if it doesn't fit? I wonder if the bag could be made smaller.hmmm?
smithandsmith - try to send a PM to the digitizer about this. Maybe they can help you out. Or, go to the website and leave them a message there. I'm sure they will get back to you soon. http://bejoscha.tavernmaker.de/DE...
Thanks. You are motivating me to try this. Good job.
That's a cute little gift bag. Did you stitch the whole thing or is this stitched on some type fabric? I think it looks alot like net darning, I did a Christmas stocking a long time ago using some type of net fabric. Has anyone else ever done net darning? I don't know where to get the net fabric. I have several books on it.
Designcrazy - this was stitched out on WSS, and then sewn at the edges on regular sewing machine. The red inside is a plastic bag I used for stuffing just for the photo. I'm not familiar with net darning, but it does sound interesting. Have you looked for suitable netting at your local fabric or craft stores?
If you're talking about the cotton netting used in heirloom sewing, Martha Pullen sells it on her site. The netting is from England, I believe.
This is so pretty and I love the red fabric. You did a great test stitch out and looks like a keeper to me. *4U and everyone
Yes - definitely a keeper. Well, it will probably become a Christmas this year, so I'll have to make another for myself. Thanks for your comments.
Great job for a test stitch out. You are doing great for a beginner. Keep up the good work
Hey great! And thanks for sharing the picture - we are very curious what our designs "achieve" at other ends. It looks really good already.
What we did differntly was the way the two halves were sewn togther, i.e. we sew them together "inverted" or "inside-out" to achieve a nicer edge. Like when you try to make a pillow with "hidden" threads. (Sorry, I'm surely not good at hand craft terminology, and even worse if it has to be English. I'm sure, someone here can put that to the right...)
I think what they are saying is to put the right sides facing together and stitch the sides together on the wrong side and then turn the bags right side out again.
That way the seam stitching is on the inside of the bag when done.
EastWitch2
Thank you bejoscha - for your comments and for the wonderful designs. I did turn it right-side out and it looks great. I love these snowflakes!
laffma1, this is lovely work - you have done a fantastic job - can wait to view others that you have made, too.
