C'est magnifique! Merci de nous faire partager de telles merveilles.
It is beautiful! You did a great job on it. I bet your Mom shows it to everyone who comes to here home.
Absolutely beautiful!!! Great job with that 4x4 hoop! Goodness you have patience. I love the colors. You are doing a great job with the quilting as well. Thanks so much for sharing.
Wow that is excellent you did a great job !!Keep sewing girl:):)Carolyn
I think it is just beautiful and I love the colours. Lucky mum
The quilt is beautiful, no w onder your mother loves it. What colours would you choose now? It depends so much at where you would use it, doesn't it.
Thank you. I would have chosen a cotton fabric rather than silk and I would have used earth tones. The satiny shiny material is not really me - hence my mom has the quilt. Everyone has their own taste. I used the "wrong" side of the fabric for the blocks and the "right" side for the sashings.
This is lovely - I have a friend in NC - going to classes - once a month - to learn this techique and quilt - she has the CD - but not the knowledge of quilting - but she is learning - you did a great job - what colors would you pick - if you were to stitch another?
Thanks Shirlene. Please tell your friend to hang in there. This was my first embroidered quilt and hence my "learning" quilt. I had also never stippled before attempting this quilt. What colour has your friend chosen? I would choose more earthy tones - maybe a pink, but a brownish "mushroom" pink. I have done 3 embroidered quilts and they have all been pink! I have moved house and all the walls and carpets are ... pink! It is just too much.
Oh Coral, it is beautiful! Can't believe you did that on 4x4, I would not have had the patience! Great job!

Stunning, I love the colors. did you do quilt as you go method or as you would a normal patchwork quilt...Sally
Thanks Sally. If you look closely at the photo, you will see that it was not finished at the time. I have it lying on the floor on the batting and a few pins are visible. I just quilted around the blocks of the quilt.
Well, I think it's terrific!! A whole year is a long time, why so long? Is it that hard to do or do you work a job also?? As for the color I like it. Why is it called a Latte quilt?? Did you get all the designs on this site? Are you a member? I haven't joined as yet so I'm very curious... Cathy
I worked on it as well as other things on the side. It is not hard to to - just fiddly because of the 4X4 hoop. The quilt is by Bernina Australia and Kerrie Hay. It was originally done in cofee colours - hence the name "Latte". I did work at the time as a casual school teacher, so I did not work every day.
WOW it is beautiful and your Mother is a lucky woman to get this from you. **4U
