Yes it does. I just told my husband this morning that I need to be getting some supplies. At least embroidery is not as expensive as some hobbies.
I love my hobby. if i was'nt embrodering I would be doing something else that cost just as much. besides it's so much FUN.
I think I had that problem and now when embroidering a darker color design I use the black stabilizer, but then use up all the 1/2 full dark bobbins, like brown, navy, dark blues sometimes even red. Same goes for the white I use 1/2 bobbins of off white, pink, yellow or beige. Seems to work for me, you never see the back threads anyway.
Hi I know what you mean. It is like what they say about any adults hobbies....Open up the cover and keep throwing money in it and MAYBE...MAYBE...SOMEDAY...you may fill it up. Suzanne
If not bobbins it will be something else we MUST have. But as I tell my hubby "Its cheaper than a psychiatrist". Marg
Bev, there will always be something that we need.I keep a note pad close to my machine. So when I go shopping, I take it along. I then come home with alot more, I must add.
Hugs Yvonne
Make sure when you buy Bobbins that they have plastic casing and not paper. I tried using the paper casing ones from my 15 needle machine in my Viking. They work to a point. When the Bobbin runs out and the bobbin collapses my auto turn off stops working.
Just a tip.
I tell my husband it's a lot less expensive than real jewelry. LOL You sound just like me--there's always something I need; the supplies do get used up awfully fast, though. LOL
But if we weren't embroidering other hobbies can be just as expensive. I used to do ceramics and that also can be costly.
I only got 8 for my machine(husq) i wish i knew how to do ebay (another lesson i need) Carolyn
Funny! I was having a serious bobbin shortage, too! I just got back from the store where I bought 20 of them. At full 40% off, so I'm not crying too hard.
I found some in hancock fabric but can get a better deal with ebay.Did you go to Joann? We don't have one here. i miss the 40% off coupons.
I got these at Hancock's. No coupon needed, they were on sale. I have a Bernina 640 and it takes an expensive bobbin. I have another Bernina that uses a different and much cheaper bobbin!
You can knot the bobbin threads together, then cut close to the knot. Put one bobbin on your bobbin winder, and the other on your thread holder .. go really slow to make sure your bobbin-being-refilled is spinning the correct way (if not, flip it upside down and put it back on the bobbin winder) .. fill till full. I do this with both embroidery bobbin thread and regular thread on my sewing machine, your machine wont even notice the knot :) xXx
Good news. I have often wondered if tying a knot would work but have been to chicken to try. I know a knot in the top thread is disaster when using my overlocker or ordinary machine. Will definitely give this a try now.
Bev, that is a good buy - I wouldn't hesitate to buy - if I knew for sure they would fit my machine - keep on getting those good deals - it all helps in the long run - doesn't it?
As soon as i get the bobbins I will need something else. Oh well at least I'm having fun!
