thanks to Debra (leenova) and Meganne. I remember Debra stitching some FSL Bells for a wedding and she had trouble...Well I had trouble today the stablizer moved...then I remembered I had saved Debra's question... and in the answers

Meganne said she had sewn in a fancy stitch around the edge to hold it together where it separated....Thank you both so much as I was just stitching a bookmark for my elderly Aunt. I had taken it off the machine but not out of the hoop and thought go look for answers as to why... So now stitched around in a fancy stitch while in the hoop and now I have a lovely finished product...Aunty will love..... thanks again

I love doing FSL but I did have a problem when I tried to load too many mini ornaments in the hoop....so I've learned you can't over crowd your hoop.....I'm going to start making snowflakes with names on them for my daughter to hand out at Christmas, one snowflake at a time.

Sally, good on you. FSL is beautiful. I went to the sewweird website and watched a short clip for keeping the wss from moving when stitching FSL. I now hoop the wss and then use packageing tape around the outside of my hoop to keep the wss firm, works everytime. and glue from tape does not leave a residue o the hoop. Infact I use the tape for a lot of my hooping. Helen

I know when I first got started with machine embroidery. I made myself a note book. That I could referr back to with tips on how to do fsl, fringe and even how to stitch bowls togethers. Even now if I come across a new tip, I add it to this book. I still referr back to it now and again. As everyone says, it is addicted. Have fun.

I know from experience where you're coming from, needless to say it's a lesson you won't forget....

I make mailing labels for monthly bills so have lots of stickers. I use them for writing the name, manufacturer and any other information on and sticking it on the inside of the roller my stabilizer. I also use them on the outside of books or magazines to note recipes or other information I would like to be able to find without searching the entire book. Stickers come in all sizes and are pretty cheep.

FSL is great. I have also made my first ones for the Christmas tree. Please post your FSL on projects so we can all see.

Ahhh, glad to know that I played a part in helping someone! I love FSL, when you get lucky you can set it and walk away without worry and everyone was amazed at the bells when I took them to the wedding rehearsal, each year when they hang them on their tree they will remember them being for Ryan and Kari's wedding. Her niece and nephew were the flower girl and ring bearer and Lannie is so young that she probably won't remember it in the coming years.

I thank you for asking the question I marked it as I have not done much FSL...I also have now altered my hoop which was another of the answers...Thank you

i could never set my machine and walk away without worry. I walked away once and came back to a huge mess, guess i learned my lesson. It only took me once to learn.

Sally, I am glad you tried FSL - sorry to hear you had trouble - but so grateful you remembered there was a solution to fixing it - I have had to do that many times, too. Hope you share a picture, too. Keep on Stitching!
