I have embriodered on microfiber towels - just be sure to put WSS on top of it! Good luck!*
I always use a topper or the (plastic film as some call it) on anything I think the threads will sink into. It keeps the threads up off the material and with the micro fiber towel the stitches will sink into it, consider it like a fleece material.
Why not use the towels for something like a very special women-project from Nic/ LuziaPimpinella and buy some simple cotton-towels to stitch on?
She has a wonderful idea for microfabric and by the way: You will love her blog ;o) She made wonderful designs and has the most breathtaking pictures from her journeys! Take a look :o)

PS: The title is womens-fuss! No fear: She writes in german and english ;-)
Yes zig zag is what we all half to do at some point !!Thanks for posting!!!
I used the microfiber towels and they worked out great. I used WSS on top, the designs were kitchen chefs from emblibrary. I like the idea of stitching on the cotton and than sewing onto the towel with a zigzag stitch. That would look really awesome. Good luck! Carol
I do not think glue will be a good idea, rather stitch it on with a zig zag sts on a normal sewing machine. Glue tends to get yellow and will show on the back, it will also be stiff. Good luck.
When I embroider on towels I always use a plastic film over the towel and by this way I avoid to break some of the threads of the towel.
Try this and you probably get it.
Why not embroider on the white cotton and then machine it on with a straight or zigzag stitch. Look forward to others replies. And Happy sewing
