I found your question backtracking to find an answer that I had and thought I had read something before. I have a Designer SE and a Scandinavia 300 which can also embroidery. I use the 300 for my basic sewing since I almost always have the embroidery unit on the SE. The 300 replaced a 1977 Viking/Hus
I have the Janome MC11000, I use this one for sewing, a Juki quilting machine (I love quilting)as well as a king size quilting frame, and for embroidery I have the 15 needles Ricoma commercial machine as I am starting my own home based embroidery business. Please wish me luck, but I'm in an area that it is becoming very popular and I have a coupld of companies that are already new customers.
What's that Aussie saying, "Good on ya!" Best of luck, I wish you much new business (even if I do envy your quilting frame, lol) Marji
Good luck with you business. I'm a survivor, too, different variety, and I feel the need to branch out on something. Haven't got enough energy yet, but am planning. Go for it and enjoy!
I have a Brother Galaxie 2000 so you can see it is about 8/9 years old. Have put a new screen on it but still works like a charm. I can use the 3 position jumbo hoop as well 4x4inch and 5x7 inch.
Well, I have a Bernina Deco 650 (it has a 4x4 field) and a Brother Pacesetter 6500 (which has a 5x7 field and is a "hybred" machine, so it does regular sewing as well). I dream of getting a huge, commercial-level embroidery machine with a 24 inch field, but that is WAY in the future (if it ever happens at all). Beyond that, I have a Necchi Royale "household" machine for regular sewing and a Bernina Funlock serger (which is on "permanent loan" from my mother). It boggles some people's minds to learn that I own (and regularly use) four different sewing machines, but you go where your passions are, right? =]
I know what you mean about machines
I have 2 serges 1 with black & 1 with white thread, industrial sewing machine and my style16 all Janome besides my embroidery machines
DH used to say "what are you going to do with 4 sewing mahcines?" & I'd say "same thing you do with 4 computers!" Yep, go where your passion is, that's right.
I have the Janome 350E and absolutely love it, before that I had a Singer Futura (sewing & embroidery), which was good, although needed repairing twice in the first year – computer problems both times. I think the Janome is a far superior machine, had it just over 12 months and it’s behaved beautifully. My sewing machine is just a basic Brother, and I too have an old workhorse, which was top-of-the-line in it’s hey-day – it was one of the first to do straight and zig-zag. It’s way too heavy for me to move and sadly it hardly gets used these days.
I've got a Janome 9500 which I LOVE!!! Also, a Janome 644D serger, and 3 regular sewing machines - 2 basic Brothers - one from about 8-9 years ago & the other was my first sewing machine my dad bought me when I was 11 or 12 - it still works great, I've kept it mostly for sentimental purposes though. Also, a circa-1950's Kenmore workhorse that could sew through steel, I think - LOL - and an antique Singer (primarily for decor - it's not in good working order, but it's sure pretty to look at! LOL!
I love my Janome 300E. Also have Janome regular sewing machine I just bought (kind of bottom of the line, but my dealer told me I could NOT have the 'Hello Kitty' machine just because it had a kitty on it, lol), and a 40 year old JC Penney machine that weighs a ton but is my workhorse. She, too, will take anything you throw at her. I'm very gentle with my computerized machines, because I'm afraid to break them. That Penney one has sewed thru a bobbin case full of cat hair, never enough oil, and a bent drive shaft and chipped flywheel. I had an old treadle I traded to a lady who makes quilts for some work she & her DH did for me when my Dad passed. I'm sure she found a good home, they were nice people.
Hi, raels, I have a 1913 Singer Treadle..she is a grand old lady, I really love her. She is just like the one great grandma had. I have a 1974 White, does straight and zigzag..very dependable, workhorse. I have a Simplicity SE3..best little embroidery machine I have ever seen, she uses any stabilizer, thread, bobbin thread you can throw at her and does a good job, only drawback she just does 4x4. I have an Innovis 4000D ltd..I love her but have to be very careful how I treat her. All the computer gizmo and big hoops are great. But she demands a lot of attention. My most dependable is a 1986 Singer Serger..she has never given me a problem and I have been brutal with her..she has worked harder and done more than all the others (except mayby the treadle) together.
Hi, I also have a Jonome 300E whick I only got a few months ago and I am really enjoying it too. I also have a normal sewing machine.
I am also a Janome fan. I have the Janome 10001. Very easy to use. Would like to obtain the 11000.
There is a review section that will answer most of your question about which machines we use if everyone signed on. I was just looking at it and apparently it has become something else entirely as you can no longer add a machine, but can only review what is already listed, (which is a diverse list). That being said....I went 5 miles around to say Bernina 440QEE. Sorry about the side trip! ;)
Hi, I have White & Brother sewing machines, a Singer serger and a Singer Quantum Futura CE-200 embroidery and sewing machine with 4x4 and 5x7 hoops. Haven't had any problems with embroidery machine and have had it over a year. Pat
