good for using as a quilt wall. If you have a spare wall to tack one up on, your design squares will stick to the flannel side and you can audition parts of your quilt as you decided where each block should go. Just smooth them up and step back.

Great idea! I never would have thought the squares would stick to it.

Wow, that's a good idea too. I don't quilt but I can see how that would be great to decide which squares you want where. Very cool, thanks for sharing!

I was wondering the same thing about coasters and trying to figure out how to do them without having to buy wood. Thank you!!!!!! Such a simple easy idea and would never have figured it out.

Yes Jo you are so right. I wished I'd known this a couple of months ago when I bought a quilt wall from Fons and Porter.(on sale). Once I got it I saw that it was nothing more than a heavy plastic flannel lined table cloth... I will say one thing about it though, if you decide to do this, make sure it is of good quality with heavy backing. otherwise it isn't thick enough and the quilt only stays for a few seconds. ;0}

I just use a piece of flannel material. I make baby blankets so I always have flannel around

You're right on! Have done this before and it's great and when you're finished ..... just fold it up and stick in a shelf or drawer until you need it again. Flannel is the key.
