This information was just verified by my insurance company. This is annual enrollment period and I will be losing my over the counter free meds and my monthly stipend money. Good thing I am retired military or I'd really be in a bad way.Things, so I was informed will really change for the 2012 enrollment. No need to get all upset with anyone just learn the facts.
I'm with Whoopi Goldberg. Give me the same health coverage the politicians have. There are always good and bad with every new law. What we have now isn't working so well. Do your research and vote for what you think works best. I for one would never want Obama's job! It's a no win situation. He was only one of many that came up with this plan. Now lets get back to other friendlier topics.
Get out and Vote Vote and Vote... get them out of office... they are killing the American people and that is how I feel..... We totally have the enemy in the White House...... Stupid , Stupid.
"We totally have the enemy in the White House"???? I agree, that is a "Stupid" remark, even with the 1st Ammendment right to free speech.
Well, since the president referred in a recent speech to our fellow Americans as enemies (Specifically, he told voters to "punish your enemies"), I don't see how we can really refer to the president as a friend. I believe mysew's assessment is quite accurate.
I didn't want to step into this, but I see no one taking the other side. I think this is not only untrue, but a deliberate scare tactic. There has been so much misinformation that people don't know about the many good things in the bill.
The health care law actually makes it less expensive for businesses to provide health care coverage for their employees through tax credits and therefore more likely they will continue to provide it.
The health care law as of last March added some new protections to US citizens, they now prohibits insurance companies from dropping your coverage if you get sick, outlawed yearly and lifetime caps, mandates they cover children even if they are born with a "pre-existing" condition, allows you to keep your children on your policy until the age of 26 years. More protections come up in a few years.
It also expands the coverage for seniors on Medicare, now covering routine physicals and beginning to close the so-called donut-hole (where people found themselves paying out of pocket) in the prescription coverage.
This bill will also save tax payers (us!) money. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that it will lower the federal budget by $128 billion over the next decade.
I read the health care bill in its entirety. And seniors are already suffering from cuts to Medicare. Medicare funds were taken to fund other entitlements. The non-partisan CBO released a statement this past week stating that it will cost us tax payers money.
There are a lot of things people do know about that law. I have heard that if you sell your house after 2012 you ill have to pay a 3.8% tax on the sale. And there are more hidden fees we haven't been told about.
That is correct. I read the bill. There are also regulations about the "green-ness" of the house that must now be met before the sale. This means that houses built before the 80s have no chance of meeting federal regs and will require thousands upon thousands of dollars of "improvements" before a sale.
Came across an article a couple years ago that states the people in office has their own separate care packages when they retire and it isn't medicare. The tax payers pay for this and they have more income than the average family. Would like to see them carry their own lunches to work and donate what they don't spend on eating out (tax payers probably pay for their meals) to programs for the people. Right now we are without health insurance and whished this health issue was solved.
This is very true, and that is why they aren't effected by these changes. I think if they do it for one then everyone is obligated to have the same insurance.
I think that we all are going to have a rude awakening. Those on Social Security - the Medicare is going up, but again no raises - congress got their increase.
My husband and I have been saying this all along, unforchuately the people we vote in don't listen once they are in office. Its all about the money not the people. What I want to know is what happened to for the people by the people??
Stella, you are right about that. I think the American people have been sitting back too much and letting others make decisions for us. I hope everyone gets out and votes. I vote Bible principals not political.
I agree with you there...You can get a voters phamplet from your church...The christian one...the one that tells you who is biblically inclined and their views and beliefs....that is how I vote...
You're right about that. This administration is doing more harm than good. Sorry if I offended anyone with this statement but it's how I feel and it's only my opinion. Sorry in advance.
don't be sorry for your opinion. If it offends others it's not your problem but theirs. Have that backbone that the Lord has given us to speak up and not squelch our voices.
