Oops, meant to type in tape not table, for use as a handle grip. Sorry
i think what she is saying is to use the coffee lid as a template and glue on a bit of wood to act as a handle mark around it and then move it down a little of mark again this will give a neat line pattern for you to follow with machine stitches,
once you have made the first circle, move the lid down to where you would like the next one to overlap now mark on the actual lid both sides where the first bottom line is. draw around the lid, move the lid down till the lines on the lid correspond with the bottom line just drawn and mark in another circle. move the lid down so again the marks on the lid again correspond with the line just drawn. you now have a set of overlapping circles that will look so good.
the width between the overlaping circles will depend on where you mark the sides of the lid.
you can make other templates if you use thick card and simply draw cut out an oblong of about two inches wide, draw a wavy line along one long edge.
cut along this line.
next place a mark at one inch above the bottom cut edge, this is your marker for getting exact spaceing.
lay the card down with straight edge at the top and draw along he wavey line next move the card down till the one inch mark is level with the top or bottom of he wavy line and mark again
you will have nice lines to again follow with ease.
try overlapping hearts or other shapes.
hope this will help.

Oh okay I gottcha... ;) Thanks for explaining. I've done this before too. They make good templates for scalloped edges also.
Margie, hun, I'm not understanding can you explain it clearer? Or do you have a pic for me to understand? Visual work better for me. LOL....I'm interested in what you are referring to. Please post again. Hugs, Terre
