It is very pretty, sorry you lost the ring part. Maybe you could hand embroidery a loop on it. Judy
well my first time was a mess. The WSS was not strong enough, but i gave it another try and learned from the first time. so will you.
And like shirlene said you can still use it .
Thanks for posting your 1st attempt! I have so many oopsies. I sometimes wonder if it is me. Besides recognizing we all have trials with our work, I learn from the responses of the more experienced Cuties! Funny though, most times my issues go back to stabilizers! *s
The first try of anything is always an "experiment"! I just started doing FSL and I am using two layers of the fiberous kind (vilene) and it seems to do very nicely.
Ohhhh, that's a shame, the work was nearly finished. But I agree with Shirlene. I would do the same and give you the same advice. Your next piece is guaranteed to be perfect. Hugs Hilde
Thanks Hilde-I will do it again using the info from experienced FSL users.
Linda, I am glad to see that you attempted FSL and are going to try again. I do believe it was your stabilizer - however - if you want to save it - just loop a ribbon of the same color on it and stitch it down - put a pretty little jewel on the front of it and no one will know - it wasn't supposed to be that way - unless you tell them. Any time that you have a new design and a free one - you really need to do a test stitch - so just feel like this is that - I would also suggest a much stronger WSS - I use the one that looks like mesh material and I use two layers of it - on each design that I stitch - unless I know it is a really dense design and I might put in an extra layer for that - keep on stitching - you did a great job and I am so thrilled to see that you tried FSL.
thanks for the advice Shirlene-I will use it! I was just curious to see how it would work with what I had on hand, so this really was just a practice piece, so I wasn't bothered too much that it did that-no big loss-not like I don't have tons of thread lol.I am however, going to order some heavier WSS- now that I am starting to try out more designs and methods I have a better idea of what I should have in my supplies. I did do the bells design last nite and it went from start to finish without a hitch-so onward we go LOL.
I have not tried it yet.. but I may soon.. I have the stabilizers just have to find the time.Yours looks like it would have done nicely if it didn't mess up..
yeah-it was going beautifully-I loved the color-then that little cut-out, disappearing act ended it-but that's ok-trial and error is how we learn....right? LOL
That's ok. At least you're giving FSL a try. I haven't had the nerve yet but I love the look. Thanks for sharing
I did try another one a little while ago-I did the bells-these came out pretty good.
You may want to try more than one layer of WSS or use a heavier weight WSS.
you are still braver then me... i havn't tried it yet. But they look so beautiful!
what are you worried about Lee - it isn't any harder than some of the designs that you create?
If you can get a single hole needle plate for your machine then try that when doing FSL.
That will stop your stitching being sucked down into the bobbin area as it only has a small hole which is much smaller than using a Zip Zag Stitch plate.
Also I think you will find that usinga heavier weight water soluble stabilizer like Badgemaster or the Fibrous type of water soluble stabilizer like Vilene water soluble or Aqua Magic or Wet & Gone will work better for FSL.
I like the Vilene Fibrous type the best for lace as it will not punch out/rip or stretch while doing FSL.
Try again you will love it!

thanks for all the info-I will have to check out all these different stabilizers-as for the single hole needle plate-I never gave that a thought-there may be one in my accessories box that came with the machine-I know my MC6500 has one.
I'm glad you haven't let this discourage you from trying again. I use the cloth type of WSS and it works great.
hmmm.. I don't have any of that yet-guess I will have to go shopping YAY!!!!
Terre gave you a good save - but sometimes these things just decide to do what they want to do. LOL It looks like the stabilizer may have loosen up some - I have found that sometimes it need extra tightening to do well.
Yup- live and learn right? I will just stick in with all my other stitch out's-I have a drawer that I keep all my practice runs on designs
Well at least you tryed some of us never try & others (like me) took years till i tryed FSL>):)Carolyn
Honestly, I didn't think I wanted to try it-had no interest in it-but those x-mas ornaments that everyone keeps posting are so cute-never say never right?
That's beautiful. But don't scrap it. Take your eyelet and attach it with a couple of stitches and then use the glue from the stabilizer to keep it together. I use a mesh stabilizer it's a little more sturdier.
I already removed it from the hoop because unfortunately, the rest of the top and the heavier outer edge stitches out after the ring. I did however, rinse out the stabilizer-pressed it-love it and may find something to use it for or on. Like I told marcia-I will definately try it again- it's so pretty-I love it in color too.
It tries to place the stabilizer on this part of the embroidering it places more two small pieces and it is observing. I keep to all the remnants of the estabelizador to use to advantage in parts that can tear.

Experimente colocar o estabilizador sobre esta parte do bordado coloque mais dois pedacinhos e fique observando. Eu guardo todos os retalhos do estabelizador para aproveitar em partes que podem rasgar.
Yup- next time I will have extra ready-I thought it was going to be ok-it went around the regular circular stitching fine-it was when it got almost all done the final satin stitching on the ring that is disappeared into the hole-luckily I was close by so it didn't get all caught up and knotted. I am not going to get discouraged tho, I will try again later
