Hi Deanna, I also have creative and wings editor. If you can not come right I can also try to convert for you.
Deanna, I have Creative Drawings software, so if you would like to send the design to me I will see if I can convert it for you. *** (see answer to Philippa, below Jerrilyn's post)
As long as you aren't in a hurry as I am going to be away for a couple days, leaving in an hour.

Hmmm! very interesting. I've never seen this extension, that I can remember. Keeponsewing has given some good links, I will check them out later when I have more time.
Sorry I can't help Deanna.

I think you have your anser here - so I will leave you with a *
deanna, will one of these help?
Sorry, I even googled it and I'm still stumped.
This can only be converted with the wings software - 'my editor'
http://www.wingssystems.com/
This is a free basic editing program and .ngs is their format; the software will convert into all the popular ones.
Thanks Philippa, I have that program but don't use it so didn't remember.

I have downloaded designs in rar format that I cannot open. Any help?
There's a free program called 7Zip that you can d/l that will open rar & zip files. Hope that helps
.RAR is not an embroidery format, it is a compression folder (for want of a better description) that can store many files and reduce the size to make it easier to send a whole lot of things at one time.
Flitter has advised you correctly, download and install 7zip or WINrar, learn how to use this little program and you will be SOOOOO happy that you did because you can then open almost any type of ZIPPED folder.
Once you have unzipped the folder you should move the design formats, you want to keep, to their permanent folder and delete all the rest.
I always save my 'zipped' files in a folder of their own, just in case something should happen and I need them.
It is always wise to UNZIP your zipped files as soon as you download them, just in case they are corrupt and you need to download them again, this can happen quite easily, especially if you use anti-virus software.
