My birthday is later this month and I'm turning sixty. I told told everyone no cards please...if you want to get me something Think FAT QUARTERS 99cents or this weekend75 cents at Jo Ann's. Of course you welcome to buy more expensive one from the quilt store. But wouldn't you be thrilled to get a bunch of Fat Quarters instead of cards???? I save all the cards I get...they are a treasure but Fabric I sort and play with for hours.(smile)

I love this idea! I'm going to adopt this idea if you don't mind. I love material and my hubby thinks I'm a little crazy sometimes. :)

what a really neat idea. Being a quilter that sounds like a blast. the only problem I don't have any friends so I'd wind up with 1 fat quarter!! (giggle)

I love your idea instead of cards. People spend way to much on them. I'd rather have something I'm going to use. Like you say - you sort and play for hours. Also, the colors or patterns make you feel good!

Emily, that is a great idea. I have been doing fsl gift cards with the persons name on it, instead of a card. So they can use it as a bookmark afterwards. Hugs Yvonne

What a wonderful idea! Cards really are such a waste, I keep them for quite a while, but really, in the end they are trashed. Personally, I don't quilt so that wouldn't help me much, lol!

This is a wonderful idea! I love the idea of different pieces to play with or fill into a quilt. I need to keep this in mind for a game or get together too! (As well as my birthday!)

That is a great idea. This could also be a good way to fill your Christmas stocking.

I don't mind the number...I really wish I could take advantage of the senior discount. LOL

bevintex by bevintex 01 Nov 2010

How old do you have to be to get the senior discount? I have a flyer from Hancock fabrics every 1st wednesday of the month seniors 55 and older get 15% off. I'll be 55 in Feb but I do not consider myself a senior citizen.

I am 67 and forget to ask. Retailers don't always let you know.
