First, I am sorry to hear that your SIL is having to take chemo...it is not easy. My daddy is taking it currently (his second time). All the others are on the right track with their suggestions. Something to do- word puzzles, magazines to look at, needlework, etc. Also, a small blanket or shawl is a great idea. A few light snacks would be good. Also, we got an ipod and loaded it with music and some podcasts. That helps to pass the time. A list of phone numbers of friends and family members, so she can call and chat helps the time go faster. Good luck to her and the family, and please say a prayer for my daddy -Jim. He is not responding well to the chemo this time.

Does she have any special interests? I would put crossword puzzles maybe those little packs of cross stitch designs that has everything in it like thread and needle. Then a small pair of clippers to cut thread. These are small and she should be able to use them and not get in the way. God Bless and if you could post her first name then I have a name to pray for.

When my friend went through chemo, she said she got cold. I bought another friend a pashmina shawl when I found out she needed chemo. Maybe you could embroider something on a shawl/wrap for her to take in case she gets cold.

A light blanket (personal size), light gloves and maybe a magazine or book she loves. Is she into crafts? Maybe something fun to keep her mind off the chemo.
