Corinney, thanks for your question. There is no silly question. We all learn from one another here--so ask away. You have some very good answers. H&*
Once I tried FSL ornaments I was hooked! You will love them. I use the type of wss that looks like fiber, not plastic. I use 2 layers and then I run warm water over them till you can see through the threads. If you soak them too long they will not dry stiff so I just rinse and lay flat to dry, you can iron them to make them look nicer, I haven't had to do this yet.
Thanks for answering me so very fast. Now I can start the xmas ball!! yea.
You got a good answer on FSL, but FSL is not the same as a lace design. The Christmas ball freebie is a FSL design, and will do as a hanging ornament. When doing a FSL make sure that you use water solubale stabilizer (one that is rinsed out) and the bobbin thread the same as the upper thead. In the instance of the FSL Christmas Ornament Ball, you have 3 colors, and would need bobbin thread for each color. I use the same thread in the bobbin as the top thread when doing these. Good luck - and once you try one, you will most certainly be hooked.
Yes FSL stands for Free standing lace with FSL use WSS stabilizer(the kind you do not see through) & use the same thread in your bobbin you use on top.
